Virginia Mae McHarge Reaves peacefully passed away on January 8, 2026, at the age of 92 surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 27, 1933, in Nashville, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Vaughn Reaves, whom she was married to for 36 years until his passing in 1985. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Joe McHarge and Etta Dunn.

She is survived by her sister Frances Herbert. She is also survived by her children Lynda Adams, Michael Reaves, Diann Klaren, Donald Reaves, and Susan Reaves. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Theresa Osburn, Ginny Klaren, Christopher Reaves, David Klaren, Michael Moon, and Lynda Klaren. She was proud of her great grandchildren Krislyn Reaves, Madelyn Osburn, Camden Osburn, Anneliese Klaren-Timme, Bruce Klaren and Ryland Osburn, as well as her great great grandchildren Serenity and Sophia.

Virginia and her husband Vaughn served a combined 33 years of active service in the United States Air Force. Their military life took them across four different countries. After her military years, she built a long career with Southwest Airlines, retiring after more than 30 years of service.

She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, reading, and gardening. She was an excellent cook and was well known for her amaretto cheesecakes. Family gatherings often centered around her kitchen.

She loved her family deeply and had a special love for her dogs. She was crafty, strong, stubborn, and deeply caring. She was devoted and loyal to her family and friends. She spent her entire life in the Church of Christ. Her father gave her the nickname Boss when she was young, a name that fit her strength and determination.

Virginia lived a life defined by service, faith, and commitment to the people she loved. She will be missed by all who knew her.
