In Loving Memory

Victor (Vic) Baja Torrijos

Victor (Vic) Baja Torrijos

November 27, 1944 – August 11, 2025

Victor (Vic) Baja Torrijos passed away at home in Houston, TX on August 11, 2025.  He was 80.

He was born in Manila on November 27, 1944, and raised on faith, books, and music. He studied engineering at De La Salle College but also played guitar in a band—because life, for him, was both structure and song.

In 1970, he met Grace on a blind date, though they’d crossed paths years before. They married that October and built a life grounded in love and quiet courage for 54 years. In 1976, they left the Philippines during the Marcos regime and started over in Houston, raising three sons: Vic Jr., Carlos, and Philip.

Victor worked for NASA contractors for 30 years, training astronauts for missions to the Moon and Mars. He helped others reach the stars—even if he stayed grounded.

He was a devoted ECKANKAR student for 51 years, a cleric for 33, and a steady guide to many.

Victor lived with purpose and heart. He will be deeply missed.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546.

  4. Dear Grace and Family,
Deepest condolences. Victor, my “big brother in ECK” taught me so much about grace, gratitude, listening, and being a channel for God’s love. I remember many good times including Asian seafood buffet restaurants in Houston, Dallas, and Austin that he and my husband loved! Plus, the legendary breakfasts Victor would make if you were fortunate enough to stay at Grace and Victor’s home. And lots of smiles and laughs. We know you are in the higher worlds now, dear Victor, thank you for the gift of your friendship. Grace, know you are dearly loved.
