  1. Sad, we both enjoyed Pho and we’re looking forward to catching up after the pandemic. I knew you in the tough times when tried to raise worms. The better times when we tried tomatoes. Enjoyed the stories and your candor. I’m sure those who knew you, will miss your ways of continuing a conversation. Thank you.

  2. Sorry for your loss. Tom was one-of-kind. We bonded at FHS over our mutual love of unique music, Frank Zappa in particular. Later, at UT, we both played in bands — on the same bill a couple of times. If memory serves, his was “the Shades”. After Austin we saw each other only infrequently but he is among the most interesting people I ever knew and could always make me laugh. Tom lived life on his own terms. He will be missed.

His life was filled with any and all types of excitement and exploration which could take several lifetimes to achieve.
    Godspeed

  5. I met Tom in 1978 in Austin and we played together in a punk band called the Incompetents. We were best friends and spoke regularly until the day of his passing. There are no words to describe how much I will miss him.

Today October 6th , we learned that Tom passed away August 22nd. Chris Jordan had been keeping in touch with him via telephone. Their last phone conversation was August 16th.
    .
Tom and Chris became friends in 1978. I met Tom when I first started dating Chris 20 years ago.
Tom was a unique person who lived life on his own terms. A beautiful and troubled soul. He could light a campfire in the rain, he could make Hollandaise Sauce from scratch, and Margaritas with fresh squeezed lime juice(no store made mixer). He is gone far too soon at the age of 65. Please hold space in your hearts for us today. Chris and I are grieving a beautiful friend. May your soul continue to have many adventures wherever you find yourself. Peace to you Tom. 8. My husband and I just found out about Tom's passing. While it has been quite a few years since I saw or spoke to Tom, he will forever be etched in my memory and I am looking forward to seeing him again on the other side. I had the pleasure of riding in Tom's raft down at least the last half of the Grand Canyon in 2004 after I hurt my back and did not feel good kayaking the rest of the way. He was a joy every day to be rafting with. As others have commented, Tom was/is one-of-a-kind, a hoot to be around, and to quote him whether we were heading into roaring rapids with my cumbersome kayak strapped to the back of his already fully loaded raft or relaxing on a calm flat section…"It's all good!"
May you find peace in your grief and loss of Tom on this earth, although I can appreciate that you will always miss him, until you see him again.
