Thomas James Maloney

September 3, 1929 – March 29, 2022

Thomas James Maloney 92, of Friendswood, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.   Beloved father, grandfather and brother was born September 3, 1929 to Thomas and Alice Maloney in Newburgh, New York. 

Tom was a business owner of Iso-Tex Diagnostics, Inc., a radiopharmaceutical manufacturing firm, and Tel-Test, Inc., a provider of molecular reagents.  His ownership and subsequent growth of the companies continued for over 50 years.  

His career started with the completion of a 4-year apprentice program at GE as a tool and die maker. From there he transferred into the GE top secret classification of atomic sub and gatling gun research division, while taking Mechanical Engineering courses at Union College.  His next career move was enlisting in the Army where he was a Graduate Officer candidate, Expert Infantry Officer, Paratrooper 101st Airborne Division, Company Commander, Regimental Law Officer, and lastly, commissioned as a First Lieutenant, Infantry.  Upon Honorable Discharge, he worked at Union Carbide as a Mechanical Engineer Supervisor and a Senior licensed Atomic Energy Reactor operator producing radiochemicals. He further established his career at Cambridge Nuclear as President then as President of BioNuclear.  Tom had a long career in the radiopharmaceutical industry, which included ownership of patents, New Drug Applications, and Investigational New Drug applications.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Jean Maloney; mother, Alice Maloney; father, Tom Maloney.


Tom is survived by his daughter Jill Maloney; son Tom Maloney and daughter-in-law Sandra Torres; daughter Megan Balderrama, and son-in-law David Balderrama; daughter Martha Maloney; grandchildren, Jessica Witzel, Jemmy Coleman, Emily Morrison, Elizabeth Morrison, Wendy Morrison, David Thomas Balderrama, and Anne Bauer; great grandson Antares Hofmann; great granddaughter Willow Coleman; sister Alice Biasotti and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M with the rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200 with Deacon Chuck Turner officiating.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at the Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 with Rev. James H. Kuczynski, M.S., officiating. Interment is to be in New York.

    So sorry for his loss. I remember Mr. Tom well from Serenity Gardens. He was such a nice man. May God provide peace and comfort to his family at this time.
