In Loving Memory

Terry Allen Hendrix

January 23, 1973 – December 15, 2024

Terry Allen Hendrix, 51, of Friendswood, TX, passed away in the comfort of his home on December 15, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love.  Born on January 23, 1973, Terry touched the lives of many as a father, son, brother, uncle, coach, and friend.

Terry leaves behind his cherished children, Madyson and Ryan, and their beloved mother, Amy Hendrix. He is also survived by his loving mother, Cheryl Hendrix; sister Tammy Forrest and her husband, Sean; brother-in-law Steven King; and his loved nephews and nieces: Sailor, Tyler Forrest and wife Kate, his namesake, Eric Forrest, beautiful niece Ashley Forrest, and golf star nephew Dane Douglas King. Terry adored his great-niece, Magnolia. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Terry was blessed with lifelong friendships, including his best friends Jeff Wilson, Aric Boullion, Ricky Wells, and Cliff Scroggins, who shared in countless shenanigans and memories to last a lifetime.

He is preceded in death by his father and namesake, Philip Hendrix; his favorite mother-in-law, Mary King; his grandparents, Sybil and Aubrey Hendrix and Frank and Marguerite Kouba.

Terry was an exceptional athlete, excelling in baseball at Dayton High School and later at Houston Baptist University (HBU). He carried that love for sports throughout his life, becoming a steadfast fan of the Houston Astros. Whether watching a game with his daughter, cheering from the stands, or coaching the youth, Terry brought unshakable dedication to every moment.

An outdoorsman at heart, Terry loved hunting, fishing, and spending time outside with good friends. His greatest professional achievement was his 30+ year career at Ranger Conveying, where he earned respect and built lasting relationships. Beyond his career, Terry devoted many years as a coach and board member of the Friendswood Broncos Youth Football Organization, where he inspired young athletes while forming lifelong bonds.

Terry’s spirit will live on through his son, Ryan, who will carry his father’s legacy on the field, fighting every game in his honor. His daughter, Madyson, will continue to cheer on their beloved Astros, every pitch and every play, as a tribute to her dad’s unwavering love for the team.

Terry will be remembered for his big heart, his love for his family and friends, and the simple joys of life—sports, the outdoors, and the people who made his days meaningful.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home 311 North Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, TX 77546 (281) 992-7200.  A Celebration of Terry’s life will be on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home.

In his honor, raise a cold one, cheer for the Houston Astros and Texans, and remember his strengths, and the incredible man he was.

Rest easy, Terry. Your legacy lives on.

  1. I have many years of wonderful memories with Terry and the family. My heart hurts for you all. He was a great man and will be missed.

  2. Terry was my classmate and teammate at Dayton High. As far back as I can remember, he always kept a low profile and was super cool. He was our starting tight end on the football team and was a great player and teammate. I was able to speak with him a few months ago, not knowing it would be my last time. This was another reminder to me that life is short and every day should be cherished. I will never forget Terry Hendrix. Love you brother

  3. Dayton High School class of 1991 will cherish our memories of our dear classmate, Terry. So thankful for social media that has allowed us all to keep up with the family's accomplishments. Hugs to Madyson and Ryan, know your Dad held a special place in all of our hearts. We know you both are very proud of him, just as we are.
Big hugs to Ms Cheryl and Tammy. Thank you for sharing Terry with us back in the day!

  4. I'm a classmate of Terry. The class of'91 Dayton ISD. He was my teammate for a long time throughout the years. I hadn't seen Terry for a while. He found out I owned a food truck and decided to come pay me a visit. It was very great to catch up on life with him. I'm very saddened of his passing. Your dad was a very cool laid back guy. I will always cherish the memories we had. God bless and keep you and the family. Patrick Barrett

I’m blessed to have coached Terry in Dayton Little League baseball. Never really needed me as a coach. He had a natural ability to play ball. Tough, smart, athletic and a really good guy. He made us all look better than what we were. He set an example of what it means to be a team player. I am forever, grateful knowing him.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you. I will always remember playing football, riding around town, eating tons of pizza at Mr.Gatty’s, or drinking a few beers. I see we shared the same middle name. Things I will always remember about you, a wonderful human being. It is never the end. My heart, thoughts, & prayers go out to you, your family, and friends. I love you brother.
