September 21, 1965 – August 23, 2024
Scott Edward Zeitler was born on September 21, 1965 and was adopted two days later by Edward and Lorna Zeitler.
He was very active in Friendswood grade school athletics, participating in baseball, football and track.
Scott was devastated by the loss of his father during his sophomore year in high school but by the age of 18, he had earned his Eagle Scout, was State Champion in power lifting and had earned an All-State musician award for piano.
He joined the Navy at age of 21 and was stationed in Philadelphia on the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) during the ship's four-year Service Life Extension Protocol overhaul and was honorably discharged.
Scott earned an Associate’s Business Administration Management degree early on and later, a Bachelor of Science degree from UHCL in 2006.
He was a successful small business owner and helped many friends and acquaintances recover from alcohol and drug dependency. He was the type of friend who would call you if he hadn't heard from you in a while, see how you were doing and loved to catch up. Always a true friend!
Scott passed away at his home on August 23, 2024, in Friendswood, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Lorna Zeitler and his brother Mark Zeitler.
He is survived by his sister-in-law Aimee Zeitler, nephew Matthew and niece Robin Zeitler; cousins Dena Chagnon, Laurie Beckman and Kelly Beckman.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at 1:30pm at Hope Lutheran Church, 1804 S Friendswood Dr, Friendswood, TX 77546. Inurnment immediately after the service within the Hope Lutheran Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, the family invite contributions to Celebrate Recovery at Gateway Community Church located at 760 Clear Lake City Blvd, Webster, TX 77598.

I met Ed & Lorna back in the seventies, the boys were young and always active. My prayers are with the family at this very sad time.

We grew up with Scott and his brother Mark. They were like brothers to us. Many fond memories. Gone too soon.
So very sorry for your loss. If I remember correctly, Scott was in my husband, Bill’s, Webelo scout group. It is good to know what an amazing life he had. Praying for your peace and comfort.
Scott was one of the good guys. I remember him every time I have to carry something heavy or cumbersome through my front door. Scott recommended we make a ramp when we finally installed a walkway, and I'm forever grateful for his kindness and friendship.
