In Loving Memory

Robert Lee Burnett Jr.

July 13, 1953 – February 8, 2023

Robert Lee Burnett Jr went to be with our Lord on February 8, 2023.  He was born on July 13, 1953, in Baytown Texas, the son of Robert Lee Burnett Sr. and MaryJane Boman Johanson.

Robert enjoyed cooking, hosting big BBQ’s, riding motorcycles, and traveling around the country to see his family.   He was a dedicated family man and was quick to help anyone in need.  He was a loving father, friend, and husband.

Robert proudly served in the United States Army for 27 years before opening his own business, B&J Floor Company in Cadiz, Ky.   He returned to his home state of Texas in 2008 and began his 3rd career with Tower Performance Inc.  Robert retired in July 2022 to start an easy life of lounging near his pool.

He is survived by his wife, Renee’ Denise Burnett, his former wife, Sandra Kathaleen Burnett and their children, Stephane Teryle Steffens “Terri” and her husband Raymond Steffens Jr., Merri Katheleen Wease “Katie” and her husband Jason Wease, and John Robert Burnett “JR”, and his wife Heather Burnett.  He was the proud grandfather of 12 grandkids and 3 great grandchildren.

Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.  He will be remembered as a devoted husband, dedicated and caring father, hardworking man and a “Grumpy Old Vet”.  He has touched many lives and has left his mark on this world and in the hearts of those who loved him.  May he rest in eternal peace.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Monday, February 13, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home 311 N. We were stationed in Germany with Robert & Sandy in the first part of 1981 plus. Great memories of grocery day. Robert prayed over the bags and gave thanks 😂❤️🙌

    1. Robert will missed by many. My best memory of Robert was when he and Sandy lived in Austin, Terri was a baby. Robert taught me how to water ski on Lake Travis, I was only 16. I will never forget him. He was my cousin in law.

Love and prayers to Renee, your husband Robert was a kind, caring, and wonderful man. I liked him the first time I met him. I will never forget the kindness you both showed Brandi and me after Hurricane Harvey. Robert never thought twice to say yes when I asked you both if we could live with you for months after the storm while our house was being repaired. We will miss his stories and kindness so much. Our condolences to Renee and the Burnett family.

  2. My condolences to the Burnett family. I worked with Rob for about (14) years at Tower Performance. I know he enjoyed the love of his family and respect of his many friends.

  4. I have 35 plus years of memories. I know if you needed a good laugh watch him watching Beverly Hillbilly!
If you ever lost anything it was behind the couch. We were never hungry it was rice every night. He always needed change for a quarter so he could leave a tip.
This is just a few of the memories that make me smile. I am a better person to have had him in my life.
    I will always love him

  5. I have 35 years of memories some things still make me smile. If you needed a good laugh watch him watching The Beverly Hillbilly's! If something was lost, it was behind the couch.
You were never hungry, we had rice every night.
He always needed change for a quarter so he could leave a tip, when we went out.
I know I am a better person having him in my life for all those years.
He will be so missed by his family. I will always love him.
