Richard L. Dafft was born on March 15, 1962, to Charlie and Della Dafft in Baytown, TX. Richard moved to Alvin, Texas at age 6, where he graduated from Alvin High School in 1980. Richard passed away on May 5, 2026, surrounded by family.
Richard grew up learning plumbing from his father Charlie Dafft Jr. and started his plumbing career in the Houston Area Plumbing Joint Apprentice Program and became a partner to C & R Plumbing Company for over 30 years.
Richard had many hobbies that he very much enjoyed such as fishing where he won the CCA tagged red fish tournament in 2023. He also enjoyed hunting, racing, gardening, shopping at Amazon or Sams club, and spending time with his family. Richard was also a member of the Brazoria County Fair Association for over 20 years and won Volunteer of the year in 1998.
Richard is proceeded in death by his father Charlie Dafft Jr., his uncle Richard Dafft and his Grandparents.
He is survived by his loving wife Deborah Dafft, his children Ashley Dafft, Lindsey Lee Cummings and husband Jeff, Tanya Spencer and husband Adam, Jessica Rush, and Phillip Rush. His mother Della Dafft, brothers Tony Dafft and wife Patti, Bill Dafft and wife Lori. He had many grandchildren Grace, Emily, Jordan and Bradley Hicks, James and Jesse Rush, and Dexter Spencer. As well as numerous nieces and nephews Colin, Kyle, and Lacie Dafft and Colin Ashley, and great nephews Josiah and Jaxon Schuenemann.
Pallbearers are Tony Dafft, Bill Dafft, Colin Dafft, Jordan Hicks, Mark Thomson, and Steve Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers are Phillip Rush and Shane Hicks.
Friends and family are cordially invited to the Visitation on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM and the funeral service on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 North Friendswood Dr. Friendswood, TX 77546. The burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, 300 Oak Park Dr. Alvin, TX 77511. A reception will follow the burial at 12414 CR 283 Alvin, TX 77511.

Very sorry for the family, while I didnt know him personally I do know his daughter Ash. Richard you did a good job of raising a strong person. I know you will keep a close eye on her from above and keep her on the right track.
Richard was always very sweet and kind to me. He was a good man that worked hard and loved his family. I know his family loves and misses him very much.
