In Loving Memory

Randall Gayle Steele

Randall Gayle Steele

January 8, 1962 – July 28, 2025

Randall (Randy) Gayle Steele, beloved husband, son, father, grandfather, and uncle, passed away on July 28th, 2025.  Randy was born on January 8th, 1962, in Sterling, Illinois, before moving to Harrisburg, Arkansas, where he grew up. He later moved to Houston, Texas, where he graduated from North Shore High School and spent his adult life.

Randy was a proud Navy veteran and NASA technician.  He was very proud of his work and would always come home at the end of a long day with a story from that day. Outside of the office, Randy had many interests, including NASCAR, rock and roll, restoring classic cars, and staying up to date on current events.

Randy was resourceful, knowledgeable, and incredibly handy, but above all else, he was kind.  He had a heart larger than life, and he demonstrated that every day. He treated everyone who walked into his house like family and made sure everyone had a seat and a plate at the dinner table.  His family, specifically his children and grandchildren, was his biggest joy.  He celebrated every one of their personal, academic, and athletic accomplishments with great pride.  He never missed an opportunity to spend time with them and built countless memories that will keep his memory alive forever.

Randy is survived by his wife, Rosemeilee; daughter, Michelline Young (Mark); sons, Hunter (Olivia) and Trevor (Destiny); mother, Rita Rainey; stepfather, Ephrain Rainey; grandchildren, Kaleb Young, Matthew Young, Zackary Young, and Selena; Sisters, Rhonda Edelman, Jeri Hinojosa (Alex),  Jackie Lewis (Tim); brothers, Radford and  Robert Rainey;  nephew, Dilan Martinez; and nieces, Jessica Guterres and Jazmine Wong. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marion and Francis, Katie Tyberendt, and Louis Dean; father, Ronnie; sister, Sarah Chambers; uncle, Jimmie Dean; and nephews, Scott Webb and Chase Moore.

Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, TX with a service to follow at 2:00 PM.

Many precious memories of my nephew Randy growing up. He always had a smile and kind word. He was the cutest little boy and grew into a handsome young man. He loved his Rose and was so proud of his boys Hunter and Trevor. He will be missed by so many. I can only image the happy reunion with his Granddaddy and Grandmother Steele whom loved him so much and many other loved ones there to greet him.
Randy is not in our past , he is in our future. It’s not goodbye but see you later Randy!

    1. Rest in peace Randy. Randy’s Dad and my dad worked together in Tyler for a trucking company. We moved to Houston in the late 70’s. Ronnie and Randy came a few years later. They Started their own trucking company and Randy and myself worked there . Great memories. My Condolences to you Rose and family. I’m in shock . It’s a sad day for sure..

  3. Growing up with Randy and his sister Rhonda as my cousin Rita’s children, we all played together along with their cousin Lisa Dean. Our grandma loved them, I can just her her say ” Oh, that Randy!”
Many memories of them growing up together. So sad that Randy is gone now as well as Lisa. It’s so hard to say goodbye to family when you don’t have very many left. Prayers for Rita and Randy’s family
