We were blessed to be neighbors for almost 48 years. Had a lot of good discussions about everything from raising kids to what was going on in the neighborhood! I will miss seeing her at our meetings at the mailbox . You "kids" were her pride and joy. She will be missed by all that knew her .

I met Nancy in June of 2011 at El Franco Lee Center. We took classes there and became friends. I told her I planned bus trips for seniors at my church and invited her to join us. I don't think she missed any trips. She was a delight to travel with and everyone enjoyed her company. We enjoyed eating out with other ladies from El Franco Lee Center. We had long conversations about Eli & Wyatt and my grandsons who are about the same age. I will truly miss my friend Rest in Peace, Nancy.

We consider Nancy our friend. We met her years ago just after we had moved here from Delaware, and she sat with us in the chapel of the old Mary Queen Catholic Church. She was a very fine lady, full of life, and kindness. May Our Lady bring her safely home. Today, MarySandra and I will offer the Rosary for Nancy, for her family, and all who love her. Because of the Sacrifice of the Savior, Jesus Christ, we will see our sister again. All our love and prayers to her family, Steve & MarySandra Foster, Friendswood.

Have known Nancy since the seventies when our boys were in Mother’s Day Out at First Baptist Church in Friendswood. After our kids graduated we started taking in nights shopping and having Coffee and desserts at Luby’s. Going to Galveston many times for lunch and day out. The last year we talked by phone every week to keep up on her doctor and surgeries and always managed to laugh with each other. Will miss my friend very much!

Have know Nancy since the seventies since our boys were in Mother’s Day Out at Baptist Church in Friendswood. After our children graduated and on to college we would take a night at the mall and have coffee and dessert at Luby’s. Then spent many times at Galveston to eat lunch and enjoy sitting watching the beach and shopping on the Strand and other places. The last year we phoned most weeks talking about her doctor visits and surgeries and about her kids who helped her out all the time. Kathleen always took her to her doctor visits and always made sure she had food. She praised her children! We always made each other laugh about our grandchildren, Will miss Nancy very much!❤️

I had the pleasure of serving on the KWCIA Board of Directors with Nancy. She loved our neighborhood and was a living resource of the history and development of KWCIA from its beginning. She could literally tell me every floor plan that was built in exact detail! She knew without hesitation how many bedrooms and baths were in any house plan, on any street – out of 554 homes! I'd often ask questions like – "do you know if there are any 4 bedroom houses on Avondale?" And Nancy would say "Well, Yes, let me see….."

She also was a great resource for Galveston. She knew many wonderful restaurants and tourist spots. I heard many stories of her fond memories she had going to the beach with her children. Packing lunches, getting ice cream, playing at the State Park. Galveston brought her much joy.

I will miss her. I enjoyed our visits. I will continue to pray for the family for their loss. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren – they brought her much joy. God Bless.

  10. It has taken awhile for me to come here to express my regrets for the loss of such a sweet friend. I’ve been to visit my daughter since Nancy passed and that is exactly what Nancy would have wanted. My world feels a little empty with Nancy gone. We would talk by phone every couple of weeks. Just to here her enthusiastic greeting made my day. It felt like home, visiting with her. Nancy was very wise and always shared her life suggestions with me and she was so right! We met when she came by the Galveston Island Visitors Center years ago as she stopped for magazines and to catch up with us all; usually after attending OLLI classes. She was such a delight. She knew as much about Galveston as we did. I bought her car and we made a day of going to register it, to the bank, and to Wendy’s. I realized that Friendswood was her community and she knew everyone by first name. She came out to west end of Galveston and we went beachcombing. Her enthusiasm for life was joy-filled. To her kids and grandkids, I know your lives are a little emptier also and I send my heartfelt sympathy. You had THE BEST mom ever! Thank you for sharing her with me. Love to all. Kayrene
