In Loving Memory

Kim Howell Ketchum

June 14, 1956 – August 17, 2021

Kim Ketchum passed away in League City, TX on August 17, 2021 at the age of 65. He was born on June 14, 1956 in Flagstaff, AZ. Kim grew up in Calhoun, MO and he moved to Houston in 1974 where he developed friendships lasting over many decades.

Kim’s mission in life was to make people laugh. He loved a good joke and could tell them till your sides hurt. “And Don’t call me Shirley”.

Kim was loyal to a fault. He was a hard worker and expected the same from others. He worked as a dispatcher in the oil and gas industry for the same company for almost 30 years. He worked with many people over the years and even helped a few further their careers. He had a heart of gold and loved to give. He would (and has) given the coat off his back to someone he felt needed it more than himself.

Survivors include his wife Kimberly of Friendswood, daughters Barbara Steinfeld (and spouse Wade) of Pearland and Natalie Rusnak (and significant other, Jesus) of Houston, sons Jesse Ketchum of Katy, Nicholas Keith and Christopher Reed of Friendswood and Michael Williams (and spouse Jessica) of Russellville TN. He also left behind his sister, Cassie Parsons of Tulsa and 9 beautiful grandchildren.

Kim loved his family and wanted to spend as much time with all of them.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546, (281) 992-7200, with Pastor Mike Carlen officiating.

Condolences may be sent to the Ketchum family in care of Jeter Memorial Funeral Home at www.jeterfuneralhome.com.

    1. My heart is broke. I still can see this 18 year old skinny farm boy with pants to his navel and his ankles standing at my front door looking for my brother-in-law? Is and was such a real sweetheart and great friend. Will miss you and love you..

  2. Cassie Parsons (Sister)

I’m going to miss you so much. You always made me laugh and when I was feeling low you lifted my spirit. I can’t believe yet that I will never again hear “ Hi, Sis” , or “I’m so glad you answered”
Heaven is a beautiful place and will be even sweeter with you there!

    Cassie

  3. Kim was an awesome guy. I work in the same industry and spoke to him every few days on the phone. We told jokes, shared problems and lifted each other up. Work will never be the same without hearing his laugh. I will miss my friend dearly.
