October 1, 1956-June 29, 2026
Kathleen Kirkpatrick, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on the 29th of June 2026 at her home in Friendswood. She was 69 years old. Born on October 1, 1956, in Fort Polk, Louisiana, Kathleen lived a life shaped by independence, creativity, and quiet determination.
Kathleen possessed a natural talent for hands‑on work and home restoration, often transforming furniture and household projects with skill and imagination. She enjoyed reading, collecting books, solving daily crossword puzzles, and playing Scrabble, pursuits that reflected her lifelong love of language.
She raised her four children as a single mother, working hard, sacrificing often, and building a life for them through love. Her life was a tapestry of strength, creativity, humor, and devotion, lived fully, fiercely, and entirely on her own terms.
In her later years, Kathleen faced significant health challenges. Her body became its own kind of battlefield, marked by surgeries, cancer, neuropathy, and pain that slowly reshaped her world. But she carried all of it with dignity. She didn’t seek attention or sympathy. She simply endured, quietly and bravely.
Kathleen’s family remained close to her heart always. She kept in touch, held on to those connections with both hands, and found in them the warmth and meaning that sustained her through everything she bore.
May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forward the best parts of her, her resilience, her creativity, her devotion, and her love.
She is survived by her parents: Barbara Kirkpatrick & Lloyd Kirkpatrick; three siblings: Bob Kirkpatrick, Colleen Kirkpatrick, Brad Kirkpatrick; four children: Benjamin Tait, Stacey Terrazas, Jeremy Tait, and Jeff (Alejandra) Wamsley; Ten grandchildren: James (Emily) Tait, Jordan (Taylor) Terrazas, Matea Tait, Jade Terrazas, Mia Tait, Connor Tait, Cameron Tait, Sadie Terrazas, Misha Tait, Adriana Wamsley; and her five great-grandchildren (Ava, Addison, Eleanor, Asher, Drew), as well as nieces and nephews.
The Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Friendswood Friends Church, 502 S. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546, with Rev. Bobby Kirkpatrick Officiating. A small on‑site gathering with light refreshments will immediately follow the service.

I remember her kindness. She was a good classmate. And she and Colleen always seemed inseparable. Together they made our classes lively and fun.

I am heartbroken to hear this. Kathleen and I became fast friends right when we needed each other the most. We got each other through some gritty stuff and ALWAYS came out laughing. It is with much sadness and regret that I didn’t get a chance to be with her again before this.
No one made me laugh or cry harder than Kathleen. I will forever remember her strength, her sense of humor, that nothing can get her down attitude, her passion for her family, and her love of life and her children. Fly free my dear friend. You are missed more than you will ever know!
My condolences to the Kirkpatrick family. May you find strength and comfort in your memories of Kathleen.
I am so sorry to read this. I am sending prayers of comfort for all of you. May happy memories help you all in the days ahead. Love, Michele, Jerry, Jake, Ben and Katie Burke

My sincere condolences for the entire family. I grew up with the entire family and she always welcomed me with open arms. Her loving legacy lives on in the children she raised.
