In Loving Memory

Joshua Lynn Sharp

December 10, 1978 – December 10, 2021

Joshua Lynn Sharp was born December 10, 1978 in Houston, Texas.  His parents were Gary and Lynda Sharp. Our Josh went to Heaven to be with Jesus on his 43rd birthday, December 10, 2021.

Growing up in Pearland, he played soccer, football and was a Boy Scout. He graduated from Pearland High School in 1997 and went to work at Hickham Industries at the age of 18 with his brother, Mitch. He continued to advance in the company becoming a millwright, then transferred to Universal Plant Services. As part of his job, he was fortunate to travel across this great country he loved so much.

Josh found the love of his life when he met his wife, Loren Burke. He asked her to marry him on a romantic beach in Aruba and they had a magical wedding at Butler’s Courtyard in League City, Texas. Their family was made complete with the arrival of their precious son, Hayden Jefferson Sharp, on November 11, 2011. Their home became a safe haven where many nights and weekends, they could be found working on separate Lego projects. The three of them became avid Lego builders. They enjoyed several travelling adventures as a family. Hayden’s first birthday was spent at University of Texas watching Josh’s beloved Longhorns play football. They traveled to the Grand Canyon and Washington, D.C. They recently made an addition to their family in the form of an American Pittie puppy named Honeys. Built like Josh (nothing but muscle), she has filled their lives with much love and laughter.

Josh never met a stranger. His life was filled with many cherished friends, he lived loud & large and loved those in his life fiercely. People were attracted to his charismatic personality. Many of his life-long work friends became family. This side of Heaven, life will never be the same for any of us without him.

Josh surrendered his life to Christ as a young child. We all live with the eternal hope granted to us by Christ’s work on the cross that we will be united with him one day in Heaven when we are called home.

Josh was preceded in death by his father, Gary W. Sharp, his maternal grandmother; Jo Ann Daniel; and his paternal grandparents, Richard and Florence Sharp.

Josh is survived by his wife, Loren Sharp; his son, Hayden Sharp; his mother and her husband, Lynda and Gary Harrop; his maternal grandfather, Lynn Robinson; his mother-in-law, Jane Burke; his brother and his wife, Mitch and Brenda Sharp and their daughter, his niece, Kolby Sharp; and there are numerous aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and treasured friends who filled his life with love and support.

Friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation with the family from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546, (281) 992-7200.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Cervantes officiating.

Interment will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Short Cemetery in Center, TX.

  1. We share your grief at the loss of Josh, but we recognize that the good he left behind on this Earth will endure in those he touched. He will make a mighty angel!

  2. Keeping all of Josh's family in our prayers. The entire Wynn family offer their heart felt condolences. As a retired Pastor I have told many families this one thing to remember at the passing of a loved one. "He is not in your past because he is now in your future." May the God of all comfort bring you peace and comfort as only he can.

  3. I am so sorry for your loss cousin my heart breaks for you. I pray that God comforts you and give you peace that you need.
