Jean Ann Thomas (August),91, a longtime resident of Poquoson, Virginia, died in League City, Texas on March 23, 2024. Jean was born on February 26, 1933 in Newport News, Virginia to Joseph and Irene August.
She is survived by her sister, Frances Goetz, two nieces, Teresa Bryant (Clyde) and Carrie Vaughn (Austin) and great nieces, Crystal Bartel, Emma Vaughn and great nephew Robert Bryant, 4 great great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 with Deacon Vince Eklund officiating.

So sorry to learn of the passing of my cousin Jean. Rest in Peace.
She picked me up every morning along with Joe to go to a private first grade. Her mother picked Joe an I up each afternoon after school. Joe and my birthdays just missed going to public school but by going to a private school that accepted us we got to continue on with 2nd grade in public school. I am so grateful that she and her mother were willing to give me that ride. As a result, I graduated high school at 17 and I believe that opportunity led me to my career. Bless her heart – I know there was quite a reunion when she got to be with her sons again. I have very fond memories.
