James “Jim” Keith Daoust, age 75, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026. Born on October 29, 1950, in New Jersey, Jim lived a life marked by intelligence, dedication, hard work, and deep love for his family.
Jim moved from New Jersey to Houston to attend University of Houston, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Go Coogs! Throughout his career, he became well known and respected for helping build chemical plants from the ground up throughout Texas and the outskirts of New Orleans. He worked with several major chemical plants across the Houston area and took great pride in the projects he helped create. Jim loved sharing stories about his work and often talked with family about the plants he built, the challenges he overcame, and the accomplishments he was most proud of.
Above all else, Jim cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Maribel Beltran Daoust, and a caring father figure to his stepdaughters Rachel Moreno, Raizza Moreno, and Rocio Moreno. He also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren, extended family members, and loved ones whose lives were touched by his wisdom, humor, guidance, and steady presence.
Jim was the oldest of three children and is survived by his sister, Barbara Daoust, and his brother, Ken Daoust. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Helen Daoust of New Jersey.
Jim will be remembered for his strength, intelligence, generosity, quiet wisdom, and the love he carried for his family. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Friends and family are cordially invited to the Funeral Service on Saturday, May 23, 2026, Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 PM and the Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 North Friendswood Dr. Friendswood, TX 77546. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery, 1310 N Main St. Pearland, TX 77581.
