April 11, 1949 – October 6, 2025
James (Jim) G. Culkin, of League City, Texas, passed away at the age of 76 on Monday, October 6, 2025.
Jim was born April 11, 1949 in Fairbury, Illinois to Virgil and Dorothy (Rosenboom) Culkin. He married the love of his life, Cheryl Honegger, on August 22, 1970 in Chatsworth, Illinois.
A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Jim went on to dedicate his professional life to a long and successful career in retail. Known for his strong work ethic and steadfast character, Jim was a man of integrity, kindness, and quiet strength.
He was an avid golfer who achieved the rare feat of not one, but two hole-in-ones — a reflection of his passion and joy for the game. Jim truly embraced life’s simple pleasures: time spent with family and friends, the companionship of beloved dogs, and moments of laughter and love.
He leaves behind a legacy of devotion and love. Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cheryl; his sons, Nathan (Christy) and Andrew (Katie); five cherished grandchildren, Jordyn, Noah, Conner, Caprice, and Amelia; and two adored great-grandchildren, Emma and Asher.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, beginning at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home in Friendswood, Texas. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.
Jim will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
