February 16, 1941 – November 16, 2025
With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother Georgia Ramona Hairston, age 84 of Pearland, Texas. Who passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, at Discovery Village surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 16, 1941 to late parents Raymond Martin and Doris Stubbs of Macon, Georgia. She was a loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Preferred to be called Ramona, or Mona for short, worked as a house manager for Hope Village for 20 years. She also donated to numerous charity’s that served the less fortunate and hungry, especially children.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Hairston and her sister Josephine Chmielowiec. Survivors include her children Sylvia Jackson, Cindy Griffin, Penny Garcia, William Chamberlain, Mark Hairston, their spouses and significant others; sister Joan Russell; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the caregivers who cared for our mother through recent years. They were a blessing to her.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Tom Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in League City, Texas.
The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, Bay Area Turning Point, or Houston Food Bank in her memory.

Many prayers for you all in your time of grief. I spent many a weekend at Momma Ramona’s house as I was often hanging out with my bestie Penny. I remember Ramona laughing often at our crazy shenanigans. Thank you dear Ramona for sharing your sweet Penny with me!! Job well done Momma Ramona….now you are no longer in pain and fully restored and HOME!! Much love to Penny and all her siblings as they navigate these tough times. Love you all!!
