December 28, 1955 – December 2, 2023

Gary W. Stansberry, 67, passed away on December 2, 2023.  He was born in December 1955 to Harry D. and Mary N. Stansberry in the Heights of Houston, Texas.  He married Monica Joffrion in July 1989.

Gary was preceded in death by both his parents and brother, Randy M. Stansberry.  He is survived by his wife Monica Stansberry, daughter Amber Stansberry, and sons Bryan and Blake Stansberry.

He graduated from Aldine High School in 1973, where he went on to Houston Community College to become a licensed master plumber.  He worked for Sam P. Wallace construction where he drafted the plumbing designs for several high-rise buildings in downtown Houston.  He later worked as a general contractor for several years before finally settling down at Bayou City Lumber for 26 years.

Gary loved fishing, hunting, collecting antique fishing lures, cooking, and music.  But most of all he loved his family and many friends.  In his earlier years, he was active in the Salt Grass Trail ride with his father, where he built the Chuckwagon for the “Rounders.”  He loved fishing trips to Matagorda Peninsula where he had a cabin that he shared with friends and family.  He loved deer hunting with his friends and brother-in-law, Mark Joffrion.  There is so much more to this man that can fit onto this page, he was a joy to be around, everyone loved his laughter, his jokes and his COOKING.  Nothing pleased him more than to cook for anyone and everyone.  He never met a stranger and never forgot a face or a name.

Family and Friends are invited to attend the visitation with the family on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home at 311 N. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas, with the memorial service immediately to follow at 2:00 pm.
