Esther Louise Green Raney

March 11, 1936 – June 29, 2022

On Wednesday, June 29, 2022, Esther Green Raney, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully at the age of 86.  Born March 11, 1936 in Pearland, Texas to parents Paul Green and Mary Ann Benes Green Preucil, Esther was a long time resident of Alvin, Texas.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle, parents, and siblings, Shirley Matter and Gerald Green.

Esther is survived by her daughter, Deborah Swindell and her husband Charles, granddaughter Corrinne Sternberg and her husband Adam, and great granddaughter Lillian.  She will be missed by her loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Following her retirement from the Brazoria County Tax Office, Esther could be found doting on her beloved dachshund, Greta, or watching her Houston Astros.  

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 11:00 A.M., at Oak Park Cemetery, 300 Oak Park Dr., Alvin, TX.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Alvin Missionary Baptist Church, 2102 West Lang Street, Alvin, Texas 77511.
