Donald Wayne Roberts

August 5, 1946 – May 29, 2022

Donald Roberts, 75, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on May 29, 2022.  He was born on August 5, 1946, in Marlin, Texas to Jessie C. Roberts and Ozella M. Roberts.  After graduating from Jeff Davis High School, Don served for 4 years in the United States Coast Guard.  Upon his return home, he went to work as a pressure vessel draftsman and later began his career at Crown Petroleum/PRSI/Petrobras, where he retired after 42 years of service.  Don also worked part-time as a real estate broker for 35 years.

Don was a warm-hearted, loving, selfless, and gentle man.  Don was known for his quick wit and good nature.  He loved to fish, work in his yard, decorate for Christmas, and drive his 1968 Shelby Mustang. However, Don’s favorite past-time was being with his family. He had a strong faith and was devoted to serving God and his church.

Don is preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his loving family which includes his wife, Linda Roberts; two daughters, Amy Johnston and husband Andy; Ashley Almanza and husband Ruben; and two precious grandchildren Emerson Johnston and Avery Almanza. He is also survived by his twin brother Ronald D. Roberts. 

Visitation with the family will be on Friday, June 3, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546. 

Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, June 4, at 10:00 a.m. at Southeast Church of Christ, 2400 Bay Area Blvd., Friendswood, TX 77546.

Graveside service will be on Monday, June 6, 2022, at South Park Cemetery, 1310 N. Main, Pearland, TX 77581.

Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 6055 S Loop E Freeway Houston, TX 77087.

  1. Don was a funny, helpful, sweet hearted man and he will be sorely missed by those he loved so dearly and who loved him. He always sent his lovely wife, Linda, the most gorgeous flowers for any and all occasions, saying she deserved them because she was so beautiful and that he was a lucky guy to have her! Heaven will love him! May the Lord comfort the ones he leaves behind.
