In Loving Memory

Deana Lynn McCathren

July 14,1965 – May 18, 2022

Honoring the life of our Beloved Deana Lynn McCathren, who is now in the Realm of the Heavenly Kingdom of our Divine Creator.

She was sunshine ๐ŸŒž who always brought a smile to our faces and laughter to our hearts. She will always be known as a selfless being, always caring for others, a work ethic – bar none, and walked this earth with the most beautiful soul.

Deana is preceded in death by her Momma, Lyndall Jean Wilson and husband Al and Daddy, Joe Dean McCathren. Deana is survived by her true love Sam Blanchard and three amazing children, William (Billy) Lewis Jones, wife Stephanie and grandbabies Audrina and Octavia; Jeremy Blanchard and grandbaby Zoey; and Kristen Blanchard. Along with her four siblings Cindy Ann Murphy, husband Scott and her two children Michael and his children Raven and Jesse, and Brittany and husband Jake and their children Summer and Jackson James (JJ); Jolynn Ybarra, husband Tony and their children Ryan and wife Cassi, Stefan, Stevie and Monique; Carey (Boo) Baughman and husband Lane and their children Megan and Bradley; and Christopher (Chris) Wignall.

Deana died due to a Wasp sting which led to cardiac arrest.  She is our heavenly angel and her message to us through all of this: Never take a moment or breath for granted. Find gratitude in everything you do. Deana was always the life of the party,  so the family will have a celebration of her beautiful life amongst all of us and her friends.

Thank you Daughter, Wife, Sister, Momma, Grandma, Aunt, and friend.

We honor your life of 56 years

7/14/65 – 5/18/22.

Date of celebration will be announced soon.

I remember when I first met her 20 years ago โ€”- she came to visit her sister Cindy. Indeed, she had an infectious laugh but also a very quick-witted personality. She brought laughter with her every time I saw her, which wasnโ€™t often enough. I am saddened by this tragedy and offer my condolences to her family and all that knew her. You know exactly what sheโ€™d be saying right now. THAT is the joy in knowing her. RIP Dee!!

  5. Your baby sister Boo Boo.

I sit here and ponder how very much
Iโ€™d like to talk with you today,
    there are so many things
that we didnโ€™t get to say.
I know how much you care for me,
and how much I care for you,
and each time I think of you,
I know youโ€™ll miss me too.
An angel came and took you by the hand, and said
your place was ready in heaven, far aboveโ€ฆ
and you had to leave behind, all those you dearly loved.
You had so much to live for, you had so much to doโ€ฆ
It still seems impossible that God was taking you.
And though your life on earth is past, in Heaven it starts anew.
Youโ€™ll live for all eternity, just as God has promised you.
And though youโ€™ve walked through Heavenโ€™s gate,
    weโ€™re never far apart,
for every time I think of you
youโ€™re right here, deep within my heart.

  6. I did not know Deana personally, but I am a good friend of Carey's, her praying sister, and I love and care for her family as my own. To all of Deana's family and friends, my most sincere condolences. My prayers are with each of you, for divine peace, comfort and strength. Praise God for knowing where Deana is right now; I pray this brings each of you comfort during your time of mourning. I want to share something that has brought me comfort after losing a loved one, and I pray it gives you a different perspective as well: "If a tiny baby could think, it would be afraid of birth. To leave the only world it has known would seem a kind of death. But immediately after birth, the child would find itself in loving arms, showered with affection and cared for at every moment. Surely the baby would say, "I was foolish to doubt God's plan for me. This is a beautiful life." For the Christian, passing through death is really a birth into a new and better world. Those who are left behind should not grieve as if there were no hope. Life is changed, not taken away. Our dear one lives on, in a world beautiful beyond anything we can imagine. With Jesus they await the day when they will welcome us with joy. "Do not grieve too much", they say to us. "We are living and still with you." For those who have been faithful, O Lord, life is not ended, but merely changed: and when this earthly abode dissolves, an eternal dwelling place awaits them in Heaven." While the absence of Deana will certainly be immeasurably difficult, knowing that she is in good hands, the best hands, and experiencing love like she has never known before, AND that you will most certainly see her again, I pray brings you all divine comfort. All my love and in His service
