It is with profound sadness and heartfelt respect that we announce the passing of our esteemed David John Garlinge, who departed this life on October 1, 2025 at the young age of 74. He was a deeply valued Grandfather (PaPa), Dad, Husband, Brother, Cousin, Uncle and Nephew and exemplified work ethic and integrity throughout his life.
Born on April 12, 1951 in Wimbledon, England, David John Garlinge led a life distinguished by purpose and dedication.
David was recognized for his unwavering commitment to family and community. He found fulfillment in Golf, Bowling and Wimbledon Dons Football (Soccer), and took great pleasure in the simple joys of life. His wisdom and warmth touched the lives of many and will be fondly remembered.
David John Garlinge is survived by his spouse Jan, children Alison and Morgan, grandchildren Jordan, Dylan, Madelyn, Hannah and Gavin, siblings Billy and Sue, as well as numerous dear friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his Mother Margaret Rose Mattocks.
A Memorial service in honor of David Garlinge will be held on October 10, 2025 at 10am at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Friendswood, Texas. Family, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by David Garlinge are invited to attend to pay their respects and celebrate the enduring legacy left behind. In lieu of floral tributes, contributions may be made to https://www.alz.org/texas Alzheimer’s Association-Houston, Texas Chapter in memory of David John Garlinge.
The memory of David will be cherished, and his exemplary spirit shall continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
