In Loving Memory

Billy Clayton Roberts, Jr.

September 30, 1956 – September 19, 2022

Billy “Clayton” Roberts Jr, age 65 went to be with Jesus on Monday, September 19, 2022.  Clayton was born September 30, 1956, in Houston, TX.  He was preceded in death by father, Billy C. Roberts, Sr, and mother, Paula Roberts.

Clayton grew up in Alvin, TX, where he learned his love for baseball and football.  He attended Alvin High School and was on the fighting Yellowjackets football team.  He also sang in the choir and was in several musicals.  During his years at Alvin High School, he made lots of friends.  The stories he and his friends have of their time in high school were memories he always treasured.

Clayton and his family were members of First Baptist Church of Alvin.   Clayton and his friends in the FBC youth group always reminisce about the annual summer water skiing and camping trips that Bill and Paula Roberts took them on.

Upon graduating from Alvin High School, Clayton attended Texas A&I University where he was a football trainer for the Javelinas.  He was so proud of the Championship ring he received when they won the NAIA National Championship in 1975.

After returning home to Alvin, Clayton began his career in the electrical sales field where he soon met his wife, Leah. They later wedded on October 22, 1988. Following their wedding, they relocated to Pearland where they raised their two daughters.

Through many soccer games, choir performances, and dance recitals, Clayton was always there for his girls.  He loved them dearly.

Everyone who knew and loved Clayton was fully aware of his passion for hunting and fishing, his love of barbequing, the Houston Oilers and the Houston Astros, but especially his love for his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Leah of 33 years, his daughters Shelby Cardillo husband, Joseph, and Courtney Barber, husband, Dylan, grandchild, Luke Barber and brother Curtis Roberts and his family, Aunt Shirley Nimmo, husband, Robert and Betty Kaffenberger and family.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. with the memorial service to follow at 11:00 A.M. at Cross Point Church, 1134 Old Alvin Rd. Pearland, TX 77581.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Crosspoint Church or Coastal Conservation Association of Texas in honor of Clayton.

  1. Clayton, will be sorely missed. It was always nice to see Clayton around town with his infectious smile. I.remember when Clayton would come over to our home as a guest of my brother Don in Alvin when we were growing up. May the Lord continue to bless Clayton's family.
