Barbara Jo Williams

She has a younger sister, Susan DeLay Tull. Barbara spent her childhood in Corpus Christi, TX. Her family moved to Friendswood in the 1970s, and Barbara attended Clear Creek High School, where she was on the Cavalier drill team. That is where she met her future husband, Keith Williams. Barbara attended Southwest Texas University and the University of Houston, graduating with a degree in Education. She and Keith were married in 1981. Keith and Barbara welcomed a daughter in 1986, and a son in 1989. Barbara was an elementary school teacher for six years before staying home to raise her children.

Barbara went back to school for a Master of Science in school counseling, then went back to work as an elementary school counselor in 1992. She worked at Walter Hall Elementary until 2000, when she became a counselor at Creekside Intermediate until her retirement in 2016. Barbara was a natural as a school counselor, and she was passionate about helping her students. She developed many lifelong friendships with those she worked with at all her schools. Even after retirement, Barbara would always be approached by former students who remembered her fondly.

Barbara’s favorite thing was spending time with her family. Her favorite place was the beach, specifically the white sand and clear water of Destin, Florida. The Williams family spent countless summers there together. After retirement, Barbara enjoyed making her home a beautiful place to be and taking care of her grandkids there. Family was the center of everything she did. It was her greatest pleasure to be able to help her family and friends, and she did so constantly.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Susan Tull, husband Keith Williams, daughter Alison Williams, son Daniel Williams and his wife Ashley Williams, as well as two grandchildren, Addison Williams and Jackson Williams.

Friends are cordially invited to a casual and relaxed celebration of life at the Family Life Center at the First Baptist Church of Friendswood at 202 E. Words cannot express how shocked and sad I was at hearing of Barbara's passing. Truly a wonderful person and great neighbor! So many memories are being replayed as I recall the hundreds of times our families were together. Living across the street made it so easy for our kids to basically grow up together. We shared lots of fun, many laughs and a few tears. Barbara will always be in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

She was truly one of the kindest people I ever met, always had a smile on her face & I never heard her speak an ill word about anyone. My condolences to Keith, Allison, Daniel and the rest of the family. We will be praying for you.

When I heard the sad news in Nebraska , I had been actually thinking about my last day at Creekside . The front office staff , administrators and counselors had always been so kind to me .
We were one big family at Creekside. Barbara was one of the main reasons that happened.
We loved her! My students knew she cared about them and I spent many days with her asking for advice or just blowing off steam. She always had time to listen . It was a shock to hear of her passing. I know she was a loving wife and mom
And she always talked so highly of her children
They are wonderful adults today I’m sure.
Barbara was a favorite of mine at school . Great co worker, friend, and one of the sweetest , kindest ladies you could ever have the opportunity to meet. My condolences to her family and friends
Rest In Peace Barbara. You will be missed by all that knew you. Marshall
