In Loving Memory

Barbara Ann Hall Wyche

Barbara Ann Hall Wyche

March 11, 1937 – January 12, 2026

Barbara Ann Wyche, 88, passed away on January 12, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wyche; her son, Ronald Wyche; her parents, Thomas L. and Bernice Hall; her brothers, Charles E. Hall and Thomas L. Hall Jr. (Sonny); and her nephews, Charles L. Hall (Bo), Jeffrey Hall, and her great-nephew, Christopher Wingo. She is survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Julia Wyche; nieces Judith Hall, Karen Schmidt, Sonja Higdon, Jennifer Freeman, and Deedra Hankins; great-nephews Zachary Hall, Corbin Hall, Parker Hall, and Grant Westmoreland; great-nieces Sarah Higdon, Lauren Bruney, Savannah Freeman, and Ella Hankins; bonus daughter Tessie Gurley; bonus grandchildren Jared Gurley, T’Neil Walea, and Kinsie Johns; and bonus niece Jayme Wood. Barbara was further blessed to be survived by her closest, lifelong friend, Wanda Redig; her close friend, Redonia Porter; and her neighbors Michelle and Allen Prothro, Debbie and Bob Kraus. She also found great joy in her favorite four-footed companions: Teeka and Lola.

Barbara grew up in Houston and attended Irvington UPC. She married James after he served as a specialist in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, from October 1954 to September 1956. Ronnie was born from their union on December 10, 1959, but was taken from them in a tragic car accident in September 1977. Barbara’s journey through that dark valley included dedicating herself to helping others. She became a key part of Pearland Christian Academy, working with students and parents. Later, she was employed at Cameron Iron Works and then Union Texas Petroleum (ARCO), where she worked until she retired.

Barbara was a member of the First Church of Pearland, where she and James dedicated many years to the children’s ministry. She was known for willingly and cheerfully sacrificing to help others succeed. In the construction of the church on McLean Road and in many of its ministries, Barbara excelled at everything she did. To know Barbara was to know her great humor, wit, and her readiness to say…anything. She loved people deeply, and everyone who knew her reciprocated that love.

A heartfelt thanks to everyone who cared for Barbara during her final days: her caregiver Kimber Magee; the Wyche’s longtime friend, Barclay Barnett, who opened his home; Steve Hodges, who fixed everything and made her life easier; Lindsay Calfee, who assisted Barbara in her last weeks; and Greg Jeter for his services.

Barbara’s life demonstrated her unwavering faithfulness to the Lord. She loved God deeply and was a woman of strong faith and resilience. This legacy of love continues to inspire everyone who knew and cherished her.

Friends and Family are invited to the visitation with the family January 19, 2026 at 12 PM at Jeter Funeral Home. Services are Monday January 19, 2026 at 1 PM at Jeter Funeral Home. Burial to follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, TX.

We are confident…to be absent from this body and to be present with the Lord.

(2 Corinthians 5:8)

Bemaw, I am so sorry to hear of your passing. I am so glad that Danny and I were able to spend time with you in December, and that you were able to meet our children. Seeing you at the hospital with Danny, his sons, and my daughter meant so much to me. We shared so many childhood memories, and that time together will always hold a special place in my heart. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. 🤍

BeMaw you have received your heavenly reward Pat and I and the kids loved you greatly you were the life of any party, even though Brother James would have to say (Barbara) from time to time. We had many long conversations and I loved trimming your roses when we lived in Pearland and oh your wonderful brownies. So glad Pat and I were blessed to have known you and your wonderful family. We have so many great and wonderful memories from times Ronnie would stay in our home and oh yes he had a whole lot of your personality.

Barbara was a truly kind soul whose presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her. She was fun. She loved her family deeply, and though she endured great loss with the passing of her husband and son, she carried herself with Grace. May they now be together in Eternal Peace.
    We will miss you.
