In Loving Memory

Alonzo Flores

October 12, 1944 – December 8, 2021

Alonzo Flores, 77, of Alvin, TX passed away on Wednesday December 8, 2021.  Al, as he was known to all, was born on October 12, 1944 in Boling, TX to parents Cristobal and Juanita Flores

Al graduated from Boling High School and joined the United States Navy.  He then married the love of his life Teresa.  He worked at Amoco Chemical Plant for 30 years.  He was member of the Knight of Columbus Chapter #6403. Al enjoyed many hobbies including learning how to build and repair items from computers to tractors. He loved gardening, all animals and football.  A die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed a good game of basketball, dominos, chess or cards with his nieces, nephews or grandchildren. He spent the majority of his retirement babysitting his grandchildren with love and joy. He was an avid reader, researcher and writer.  He followed in his fathers’ footsteps and journaled consistently.

The most important things to Al were his faith, family and country. He was a devout Catholic and was always reading, researching and sharing his love of God and The Church.  His family was directly behind his love of Christ, he was afforded 52 years of the blessed sacrament of marriage to his wife and together they established their family of 5 children, 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Al also loved his country.  He served proudly in the United States Navy and was a true patriot. He never met a stranger and was a generous man whether it be time, a meal or expenses.  He lived his life simply and beautifully and led by the example of love.

Al was preceded in death by his parents Cristobal and Juanita Flores, sisters Paula Flores and Feliciana Rodriguez, brother Alfredo Flores, daughter in law Brenda Flores, and many other relatives.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Flores; siblings Maria Elena Valdez, Sister Guadalupe Flores, Manuela Lopez, Alfredo Flores and Antonia Arizpe; children Paul Flores, Michael Flores (Dena), Sylvia Cervantez, Lydia De La Cerda (Raymond) and Olga Caballero (Robert); 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
