November 7, 1958 – December 30, 2022
William Steven Hobbs, 64, went to be with the Lord on the evening of December 30, 2022. He was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather. He leaves behind many loving and precious memories.
Unfortunately, after being diagnosed with Cancer in the middle of November 2022, we learned he was too weak for treatment. We surrendered to the Lord and His will.
Steve was born in Montgomery, Alabama on November 7, 1958 to Wilburn and Evelyn Hobbs. Steve and his parents came to live in Houston Texas in 1967. He graduated from Sharpstown High School in 1977. He accepted the Lord at the age of 11 and has been faithful to Him since.
Steve took an interest in electrical early on in his life and knew this was the field he would pursue. Through perseverance, schooling and hard work, he earned a Master’s in Electrical. He loved hunting, fishing, spending time with family and friends and most of all, he loved his church and serving for the Lord.
Steve acknowledged and was very grateful to Mr. Joe Heiman, Mr. Chris Farenthold ,
Mr. Gary Roy, Mrs. Beth Ayers and many co-workers for their friendship, encouragement and employment throughout the years. To Mr. Bill Graham, President of FSGI, being his last employer of 16 years, Thank you and God Bless you.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Wilburn W. Hobbs.
He leaves behind his mother, Evelyn Hobbs, his loving wife, Raquel Hobbs, daughter, Victoria Hobbs Medina, husband, Johnzel Medina and granddaughter, Naomi Rose Medina. His daughter, Nina Reyes, husband, Edward Reyes and three grandchildren, Benjamin, Johnathan and Elaine Viviana Reyes. His son, Bradford Thomason and wife, Ali Clark, and many loving relatives and friends.
We want to extend our sincere gratitude and acknowledge our wonderful Pastor Ron Hindt and his wife Yani, Zoe Glasscock, Cindy Cauthen, Angie Campbell, our wonderful neighbors, Nurse, Jaime and the hospice staff for their tremendous help and support.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 9:00 A.M. followed by the funeral service at 10:00 A.M. located at 3700 F.M. 528 Rd. Friendswood Texas 77546 with Pastor Ron Hindt officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, please make an offering to Calvary Chapel Houston at www.calvaryh.org.
Condolences may be sent to the Hobbs family in care of Jeter Memorial Funeral Home at www.jeterfuneralhome.com.

Steve and I grew up down the street from each other and were childhood friends. My deepest sympathies to the entire family.
