August 31, 1940 – January 22, 2023
Wanda Pearl Harper Meyer, 82, of Alvin, TX passed from this life on January 22, 2023. She was a kind and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by all who loved her and were touched by her gracious, loving spirit.
Wanda was born on August 31, 1940 in Austin, TX to Thelma Becky Harper and Archie Howard Harper. She was raised there and moved to Hitchcock after the Texas City explosion around 1947 as her father, Archie, was a carpenter and helped to rebuild the local area homes. They moved to Alvin, TX when she was 14 years old, where she grew into a strong, intellectually brilliant entrepreneurial woman, who learned her financial book-keeping expertise while working at Bowman’s Department store. She was a graduate of Alvin High School class of 1958. She met her sweetheart, Marshall Donald Willie Meyer, Jr. in Jr High School at age 14. They dated for 5 years then married in the fall of 1958. Her strong business sense helped her and Don start a business and build their financial future until they retired.
She was a devoted grandmother of 6. Wanda prioritized the love of her family, especially her grandchildren and was always proud to show them off to her dear friends. She was adored by each of them, helping to raise them into the kind and driven adults they are today.
She never met a stranger and was adored by all who crossed her path. She enjoyed playing golf in her younger years with her sons, grandchildren and many beloved friends. Her favorite times, however, were sitting on the porch chatting with her mother and sisters drinking coffee or Dr. Pepper, and sharing stories in candid humor.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Andrew William Meyer and Sister-in-Law, Carolyn Harper. She is survived by her devoted husband, Marshall D. Meyer, her son Donnie Wayne Meyer and wife Lisa, son Michael Christopher Meyer, and daughter Jodi Lynn Mensch and husband Larry, her sisters Virginia DiFrancesco, Glenda Harper, Steve Harper and wife Pam, and Randy Harper and wife Diane.
Also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew Meyer, Rachel Renfrew and husband Kyle, Ragan Butler and husband Harley, Meredith Ingamells and husband Brian, Michael Meyer, and Megan Meyer. Great grandchildren, Brodie Renfrew, Keegan Ingamells, Lincoln Butler, Josie Ingamells Hayes Renfrew and Lawson Butler, along with step grandchildren and numerous cousins and other distant, but dear relatives.
All of these people are joined together by the love Wanda impressed upon them and the memories they shared together.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. with a memorial service to begin at 11:00 A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200.

Don and family, wish I could be there. Wandi and you gave me the tools to survive at a young age. Providing me with everything that would make me a strong woman. I'm going to miss you, knowing I will see you again and that you are soaring above us, with Angel's and many loved ones. I can only imagine the reunion when you arrived in Heaven. It's not good bye, it's I'll see you later and I will carry our memories in my heart💕

D and all of the family,
'So sorry to learn of Wanda's passing. Regrettably, I came across this news by accident and after the date of her memorial service. Wanda was such a special person and I have fond memories of our visits at AG&CC. I used to always be sure and wish her a happy birthday, and she would wonder why I would remember it. The giveaway was that the date is also my mother's birthday.
I hope all of you are well and I wish you peace and comfort in your mourning. Much love your way.
Visited your obituary today just to look at your beautiful face and read the words of your lasting impact on us. I love you Meemaw. You were my strength through many challenges which explains where I got my strong collar bones I now see in your youthful pic ❤️. I love you and one day I will squeeze you again!
