In Loving Memory

Thomas Wesley Saladino

August 16, 1978 – November 17, 2023

Thomas Wesley Saladino stepped into heaven on November 17, 2023, at the age of 45.  Wesley was born in Texas City, Texas on August 16, 1978, and was raised in Alvin, Texas.  After attending Alvin High School, Wesley worked at his family’s restaurant in Alvin for nineteen years.

Wes met his soulmate Erin in Houston, and they were married on October 3, 2009.  The couple moved to Fredericksburg to enjoy life in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, and then returned to Houston, Texas.  Wes and Erin recently celebrated 14 years of marriage.

Wes is preceded in death by his father, Joe Vincent Saladino of Alvin, grandparents Tom and Gwynne Brake of Alvin, grandparents Sam and Mary Saladino of Alvin, and uncle Sam Saladino of Houston.

Wes is survived by his wife Erin Saladino, mother Beverly (Brake) Saladino, brother Joey (Kacey) Saladino of Alvin, sisters Sarah (Duane) Barham of Alvin, and Jennifer (Mike) Parker of Friendswood.  Wes will be remembered as a beloved uncle to Kate Saladino, Whitney and Sam Barham, Dawson and Landon Parker, Jordan (Nick) Wat and Nick Taylor, Phillip and Charlie Legler, and great-uncle to Henry and Hudson Wat.

Wes will be dearly missed by his parents-in-law Gretchen (Ginn) Huepers, Victor and Barbara Legler, brothers-in-law Blake (Jenny) Legler and Brian Legler.

Wes brought joy to our lives and graced us with countless happy memories.  He was a skilled house DJ who spread happiness through his music.  Wes cherished all God’s creatures great and small, and cats held a special place in his heart.  With a twinkle in his eye, he delighted us with his sense of humor; he was a true comedian who always kept us laughing.

Wes and Erin traveled often, enjoying yearly trips to recharge in the wildlife and mountain landscapes of Colorado.  From the age of four, Wes’ favorite place of all was the family ranch in Fredericksburg.  Wes and Erin rejoiced in the natural beauty of God’s creation and in making memories with his beloved parents, brother and sisters, nieces and nephews, and dearest friends.

Wes showed fierce determination as he faced recovery from an accident last January.  As a burn survivor, he fought bravely through twelve surgeries and multiple skin grafts with many months of healing still in progress.  Wes looked to God every step of his journey and now rests with his beloved Father in eternal salvation.

Wesley’s heart was filled with compassion, empathy, and pure love for others.  Wes never met a stranger – he was blessed with many dear long-time friends, and innumerable new friends made over the years.  To Wes’ friends who loved him, thank you for standing by his side, and for supporting him through his challenges.  He will be so missed and wants you to remember how much he loved you.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wesley’s honor to the Army Fisher House, the Texas Burn Survivor Society, or the Animal Justice League.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Friday , December 1, 2023, from 5:00 P.M.- 7:00 P.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at The Harbor, 2821 W. Dear Erin and family,
This is Elisabeth, Melissa Hagen's sister. I am so thankful to be able to have long talks with Wes just a few months ago. Truly could not believe my eyes when reading this tragic news about Wes. Erin I am glad we have each other's numbers now and can talk/text anytime. What a beautiful tribute for your Wes. Somehow may God wrap His grace and love around you all. -Elisabeth

    Dear Erin and family –
It was a true pleasure to get to know Wes this past year, despite the circumstances that led to the acquaintance. Your comments regarding his attitude and 'fierce determination' following his injury can be echoed by many who witnessed his remarkable journey of recovery. Thank you for being such an important part of his healing process. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and his family. Wes will be missed.

  5. Erin I am truly sorry for your loss. Wes was very special, such a kind soul. He will be deeply missed and his memory cherished.

  6. Very sorry for your loss, Erin. I only got to spend a few hours with him, but swapping stories with him during that time, you could see everything you mentioned. Even the accident at the beginning of the year, he spoke of as a hill to climb, but that he would overcome the obstacle that was put in front of him. He talked about the doctors who cared for him, and how much they meant to him and his recovery. Most of all, every story included his family in some way. Whether the family land, his dad's restaurant, trips you both went on, and even his accident. He talked about your unwavering support of him all of those days in the hospital, and the recovery period afterwards. I wish I could have known him longer. Prayers for you and your family!
