Suzanne "Susan" Parks Currie

December 2, 1955 – February 4, 2022

Suzanne “Susan” Parks Currie, 66, of Friendswood, Texas, passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving friends and family, on February 4th, 2022, after a short battle with cancer.

Suzi was born December 2nd, 1955, in Pasadena, Texas to the late Joyce Blumenthal and Kenneth Parks. She was the fourth of nine siblings and graduated with the Sam Rayburn High School Class of 1974.

In 1983, she met a handsome sales manager named Greg at the Ford dealership; they were married a year later on September 9th, 1984, and never looked back. Suzi and Greg went on to have two children: daughter Colette in 1985, and son McGregor in 1988. Suzi first became a “SuSu” upon her grandson Quinn Currie’s birth in 2017, followed by her second grandson, Whitman Kendall, in 2020.

Suzi loved taking day trips with her close girlfriends and traveling with her sisters. She was a dedicated member of her home church, Friendswood United Methodist, serving on the staff there for over 20 years. She was a board member and integral part of the Houston Bay Area Emmaus Community, serving as Walk Lay Director for Women’s Walk #73. Suzi also loved participating in many small groups and Bible studies, Stephen Ministries, and her local PEO chapter, GI.

Suzi was preceded in death by her parents, Joyce and Kenneth; her brother, Kenny Parks; father-in-law, Bob Currie; brother-in-law, Kevin Currie; and brother-in-law Bob Gillespie.

She is survived by her loving husband, Greg; her daughter, Colette “CC” Kendall and husband, Michael; her son, McGregor “Mac” Currie and wife, Liz; grandson Quinn Currie; grandson Whitman Kendall; sister Linda Nagel and husband, John; sister Margaret Abrams and husband, Vince; sister Shari Mallet and husband, Mike; sister Kathy Janeway; sister Patti Gillespie; her brother Jim Parks and wife, Traci; brother Chris Parks; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Suzi’s life will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, February 10th, at Friendswood United Methodist Church, 110 N Friendswood Dr, Friendswood, TX 77546.

  8. My memories of Susan go way back to the days when she played in bell choir at FUMC and the times our daughters spent time at one house or another. She has an honored place in my memories, as she was a disciple and showed it. Peace to Greg, Collette and Mac. You will see her again.
