In Loving Memory

Sandeep Bhatt, MD Ph.D.

December 13, 1975 – October 9, 2024

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness to announce the untimely death of Dr. Sandeep Bhatt.

Sandeep Bhatt, MD PhD, 48, of League City, Texas,  died on October 9, 2024. Sandeep was born on December 13, 1975 in Bombay, India to Dhananjay and Manjula Bhatt. Sandeep leaves behind his wife, Ashley Bhatt, children Ishaan (15) and Zara (11) Bhatt and his beloved dog Marcus, Brother Babul (Mohini) Bhatt and Mother Manjula Bhatt. Sandeep was welcomed in death by his father Dhananjay Bhatt.

Sandeep attended Mahatma Gandhi Mission College Navi Mumbai, where he completed his Medical Doctorates degree. He then moved to the United States where he completed his Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience at Kent State University. He further went on to complete his residency in Internal Medicine at Canton Medical Education Foundation in Canton, Ohio. He then spent many great years working and serving his community as a hospitalist in Colorado and Texas. In 2020, he decided to further pursue his career and education, completing his fellowship in Neurocritical Care at UTMB Galveston. His final days were spent working in the neurointensive unit, lending his knowledge, expertise and compassion to the most critical patients and their families.

Sandeep shared many roles throughout his life. He was a father, a husband, a brother, a son, a friend, a colleague, a physician, a mentor, a sounding board, an advisor, the list is endless. If you asked Sandeep what his most prized accomplishment was he would tell you it was being a father. He loved being a father to Ishaan and Zara more than life itself. His world revolved around his children. He would tell you his second greatest accomplishment was marrying Ashley. The love he shared for her was remarkable and felt by anyone who knew him. Sandeep was always willing to help anyone and everyone in need whether it be a fellow colleague or a friend. His wisdom and guidance shaped the lives of many both professionally and personally.

Sandeep loved to travel and gain new experiences wherever he went, making sure that his family got to have the best experience and adventure with him along the way. Traveling all over the United States, sometimes on just a few hours notice. There was no adventure that was going to pass him by. Compiling hours worth of research, you knew that anywhere you went with Sandeep (even if it was just to the local coffee shop), you would know everything there was to know before you left. Sandeep loved food, anyone who knew him knew he was always in search of a great place to eat, whether that be recipes to cook at home, restaurants to try or a good food truck he randomly stumbled across. Sandeep also loved the outdoors. He always wanted to be moving and outside, enjoying the fresh air and nature.

His loss will forever be felt in the lives he has touched.

A Memorial Service will be held at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N Friendswood Dr. Friendswood, Texas 77546 on Monday October 14, 2024 at 9:00 AM.
