Roy Ancil Powell, 86, of Friendswood, Texas passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022. He was born October 22, 1935 in Montgomery, Texas. He was a resident of Friendswood, Texas for 28 years.
He attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a master’s degree in Engineering. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged as a Lt. Colonel. Roy worked for NASA as an instructor, training pilots and astronauts to fly. He also enjoyed golfing.
Roy is survived by his wife of 32 years, Nena; sons, Lyndon, Mark and David; and several grandchildren.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200 with Rev. Randy Davis officiating. Interment will be held at Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
A reception to follow at First Baptist Church, 111 E. Heritage, Friendswood, Texas 77546, in the Fellowship Hall which sets on Pecan Dr., in Building A; Everyone is welcome.
