Rollie B. Casey, Jr.

Rollie B Casey, Jr. died August 9, 2021. Rollie was born October 12, 1929, in Lamar County (Paris) Texas to Rollie B Casey, Sr. and Ida Cecil Melton Casey in their country home in Lamar County. His parents moved to Houston in 1930 where he was raised. He had Polio in 1935 at six years old. He attended Elliot Elementary School in Denver Harbor in suburban Houston, then went on to Thomas Edison Jr High and to Sam Houston High School. His parents moved to Abilene, Texas in 1945 where Rollie finished high school and graduated in 1948.

He met the love of his life in Abilene and was married to Dorothy Wimberley on November 24, 1949. He and his wife moved back to Houston in 1950. He had started learning the electrical trade and joined the Electrical Union Local #716 to become a journeyman electrician. He attended the University of Houston and passed the Master Electrician exam in Houston and later in another twenty cities. He went into the electrical contracting business in 1951. His business grew to the point that he had an employment of over 200 personnel. He also studied for and attained a Texas Real Estate Brokers license. In the mid-1980s, he also obtained a Tennessee brokers license as well as a general contractor, plumbing contractor, and heating and A/C contractor license.

He has had a varied career in electrical, mechanical and building contracting, as well as real estate brokerage businesses. Rollie and his wife of almost 72 years had three loving children: Brenda Diane Casey Frank, Randall C. Casey, and Sharon Kay Casey Martindale, eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one brother and many cousins.

Life was good to Rollie. He has expressed his great love and appreciation for his parents, his life-long, unwavering love for his wife, and his love for his three children.

At his request, there will be no public viewing.

  1. God Bless and prayers to the family for the passing of Mr. Casey. I am new to learn of this family and after learning about Mr. Casey's obituary he was a very extraordinary man. I am blessed to work with Ms. Casey and she will continue to be in my prayers.
