February 24, 1948 – July 9, 2025

Randy Edwin Hazlewood, 77 of Pearland, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2025.

Randy was born to Edwin Walter Hazlewood and Wanda Lee Williams Hazlewood, February 24, 1948, in Orange, Texas, the oldest of five children. He graduated from West Orange High School in 1966 and received a BBA in Accounting from the University of Houston in 1980.

He met the love of his life, Rita Elizabeth Deal, in biology class his junior year of high school. They married four years later in 1968 and remained in Orange until their big move to the Houston area in 1973.

Randy was an accountant in the oil and gas industry and later became a compliance auditor and was able to travel the world on his employer’s dime. Upon his retirement in 2015, he became a full-time Papa which was his most accomplished role.

He was a devoted family man with a servant’s heart and loved helping others. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, enjoying sports, gardening, fishing, boating and woodworking.

Randy is preceded in death by Walter Hazlewood and Wanda Hazlewood and sister Joana Beth Hazlewood.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Rita Hazlewood, son Todd Hazlewood, son Michael Hazlewood and wife Tiffany and daughter Patti Allbritton and husband John; grandchildren Joshua Allbritton, Ava Hazlewood and Madelyn Hazlewood; sisters Nancy Donnaud and Shara Smith, brother Richard Hazlewood and wife Tammy and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church Friendswood, 111 E. Heritage Dr, Friendswood, Texas 77546 on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 am (visitation begins at 10:00 am).
