They moved to Waco, Texas, where Pat worked at the VA Medical Center while Leroy continued his education at Baylor University. Their first son, Craig, was born while they lived in Waco. After Leroy graduated, they moved to Riverside, California in 1962, where their second son, Jon, was born.
They returned to the Houston area in 1963 when Leroy was hired to work on the Mercury Project at the Johnson Space Center. It was during this time that her younger children, Amy and Andy, were born. Following her work as a nurse, Pat became certified as a teacher and taught math at Milby High School in Houston. Pat then worked in software design for Unysis until her retirement. In retirement, Pat served in many volunteer roles, including ESL tutoring and refugee resettlement. Pat and Leroy led a Small Group Ministry group for a number of years, and Pat remained active in the group after Leroy passed away. Pat also loved her breakfast group, playing bridge and being a grandmother to five wonderful granddaughters.
Pat and her family were long-time members of House of Prayer Lutheran Church, where she developed many lifelong friendships. After moving to Friendswood, she became a member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church in League City, then Hope Lutheran Church in Friendswood.

Pat lived in my dorm while a freshman at Scott and White. I enjoyed knowing her. I'm so sorry that the family has lost such a lovely lady.
