August 16, 1950 – September 29, 2024
Patrice Brooks Carson, 74 of Houston, Texas passed away quietly in her sleep in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 29, 2024. Patrice was born on August 16, 1950, in Pensacola, Florida to Royace and Betty Brooks.
She is preceded in death by her father Royace Brooks, mother Betty Gainer Brooks Fussell, son Toby Russell Laughlin, and her sister Betty Claire Denney.
Patrice was married to her loving husband, Jack T. Carson, for 31 years.
She leaves behind her son Daniel L. Long, grandson Ryan Nicholas Bruner, nephews Richard L. Engel, Mike Thomasson (Josie), cousin Dr. Jean Roberts, Ed. D., her beloved Poodle Ginger, and three of her very best friends, Debra Thalheimer (“DT”), Dorinda Bain and Gesslyn Engelhard.
A good portion of Patrice’s working career was spent in the accounting field, but prior to that she was a professional musician playing the piano and the accordion. She would fondly recount her gigs at The Petroleum Club of Houston and the Rice Hotel.
Two of the other most notable things in her life were her ability to cook enormous portions of food… even for just a few people! And her very precise use of the words ‘done’ and ‘finished.’ If you ever misused either in her presence, you were in for a lesson! All in fun of course… sorta!
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 P.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home 311 North Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200 with The Rev. Mike Stone officiating.
