In Loving Memory

Nikki Frances LeMeunier Stasny

May 10, 1952 – June 26, 2022

Nikki LeMeunier Stasny was born on May 10, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and died peacefully in her home on June 26, 2022, in Pearland, Texas. She had just celebrated her 70th birthday.

Nikki was the oldest of six children born to Francis Nock LeMeunier, Jr. and Kathlyn Gunther LeMeunier. She attended Mount Carmel Academy in New Orleans. While working at Corky’s, Nikki met her high school sweetheart, Charles “Chuck” Stasny from Brother Martin High School. Nikki and Chuck married on September 30, 1972, and were celebrating 50 years of marriage in September. Together, they have two daughters, Danielle Kathlyn Herrera and Meredith Stasny McCrary.

Chuck’s career in the oilfield industry took Nikki and their daughters to several cities, including Hattiesburg, Mississippi; Lafayette, Louisiana; and San Antonio, Katy, Lake Jackson, and Missouri City, Texas. Throughout her career and while juggling motherhood, Nikki worked at several accounting firms and specialized in tax preparation. In 2001, Nikki helped Chuck realize his dream of owning an automotive shop when they purchased Houston AAMCO Car Care. Nikki provided accounting support for their business for many years, helping to propel it to a top-grossing AAMCO nationwide. In 2018, when Chuck retired, they moved to Pearland where they found their dream home.

Nikki’s greatest joy was her four grandchildren – her “honey bunnies” – Isa, Fran, Deacon, and Reid. She was always the loudest one cheering at recitals, performances, games, and graduations. It was clear that she loved them wholeheartedly.

Nikki also had a passion for sewing through which she met many cherished friends. In addition to sewing anything and everything for her grandchildren, she was a regular participant in the Wee Care Project, sewing smocked gowns to donate to local hospitals to clothe babies who died at birth or shortly after. She loved both teaching and honing her craft and was the current treasurer of the Midnight Oil Smockers, the Sugar Land/Houston Chapter of the Smocking Arts Guild of America. Each year, Nikki looked forward to attending the International Quilt Festival with her best friend Linda Sapp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathlyn and Nock LeMeunier; and her brothers, Michael LeMeunier and Lawrence LeMeunier. She is survived by her loving husband, Chuck Stasny; her daughter, Danielle Herrera and her husband Miguel; her daughter, Meredith McCrary and her husband Benjamin; her grandchildren, Isabel Herrera, Francesca Herrera, Deacon McCrary, and Reid McCrary; her siblings, Scott LeMeunier, Andree Bruno, Francis Nock LeMeunier, III and his wife Jennifer, and Leslie LeMeunier and his wife Mindy; and her mother-in-law, Lou Stasny.

The family will receive guests beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2022, with a Memorial Service beginning at 2 p.m. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home in Friendswood, 311 North Friendswood Drive. Fr. John Rooney of St. Mary of the Expectation Catholic Church will preside over the service. Immediately following the service, all friends and family are invited to a reception in celebration of Nikki’s life at the Stasny Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to Midnight Oil Smockers, c/o Denise Tipton at 1819 Hackberry Heights Drive, Richmond, Texas 77406.

Nikki is one of those amazing souls guaranteed entrance into the Land of Light and Joy. Her passing leaves such a void among her sewing friends. I have several sewing friends who met her at the Pearly Gates to show her around. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

  5. Wow! A very active person, and so kind in all that she did. Especially the "Wee Care" project.
I had the pleasure of playing roulette along side her one year in 'Vegas. We had a blast!
