Michael Brett McCallay

August 20, 1960 – August 4, 2024

Michael Brett McCallay, 63, passed away on Sunday August 4, 2024, at 9:24 PM due to a heart attack, with his family by his side. He was born on August 20 1960 in Seguin, Texas.  Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis McCallay and his brother Brad McCallay. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Bettie; his daughters Julie Nichols and Samantha Longwell; his son Rick Nichols and his wife Rebeca. Mike was a proud and doting grandfather to Grace Nichols and Braxton David. 

He is also survived by his father, Floyd McCallay, brother, Greg McCallay and his wife Rebekah, and sister, Mindy Pearson and her husband Eric Pearson. As well as his beloved nieces and nephews. 

Mike resided in Alvin, Texas, for 63 years and was a member of Alvin Missionary Baptist Church where he loved to teach and mentor the youth.

Mike served as a Corrections Officer and a Deputy Sheriff for Galveston County for many years. He then worked for several years in the Plant Safety industry. After retirement, he spent many hours lovingly doting on his wife, daughter and grandkids. 

A heartfelt celebration of life will take place at Alvin Missionary Baptist Church located at 2102 W. Lang Street, Alvin, Texas, on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. The service will be led by Pastor Justin Gatlin who will guide us in honoring and remembering a cherished life.  Visitation will precede the services at the church at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to All the Little Things Count, a service provider for special needs children, at 201 FM 2917, Alvin, Texas 77511.
