In Loving Memory

Max Carlos "Big Max" Brill, Sr.

January 4, 1959 – August 22, 2021

Max Carlos Brill, Sr. passed away August 22, 2021. He was born January 4, 1959 in Santiago, Chile.  Max was preceded in death by his father, Carlos Enrique Brill Eichner; his mother, Ines Brill Burotto; grandmother, Adriana Ramos; daughter, Jeannie “Jean” Brill; and husband-in-law, Scott Markley. Those left to carry on Max’s legacy include his son Max “Nene” Brill, daughter-in-law Baylee Brill, Grandsons Tyler and Travis Brill, Julia Markley, Lei and Elena Wood, Mimi, and many more.

Max grew up traveling more than most and lived in Hawaii for most of his childhood. He married Julia and moved to Laporte, Texas where they had 2 children, Max and Jeannie Brill. He was always a creature of habit and was not a fan of change. He spent 30 years of his life dedicated to The Harris County Sheriff's Department and retired November 2020.  He spent his free time racing with his son and tinkering with quads. Max was a lover of photography and took his camera and drone everywhere. He was a napping enthusiast and sandwich artist. The man could build anything from his 3D printer, and he was always immensely proud of the items that he made. Max was a dad to everyone, he gave the biggest bear hugs and made you feel like family immediately. He was the ultimate family man. He lived large and fast. He knew how to make the little moments count. He was a great Dad, but he was a kid’s best friend. To say that he will be missed feels like an understatement. We will carry on his legacy forever.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 (281) 992-7200.

Condolences may be sent to the Brill family in care of Jeter Memorial Funeral Home at www.jeterfuneralhome.com.

You were always the sunshine on a cloudy day. I am going to miss you yelling out "Hola" down the hallway when you came over. But, it's definitely the hugs and kisses, I am going to miss most. And, how we would always say, "Love you, bye."

  2. Max, Max, Max….you were my friend and the best Nextdoor neighbor anyone could have had! You always let me interrupt whatever it was you were tinkering with to help me change edger blades, drill holes for drawer pulls or just brainstorm over some crazy idea I might have. I will never stop looking over at your garage to see if the door is open! I will always remember the bike rides, you with your motorized bike, and me with my non motorized bike trying to find the right gear to Keep up. You always let me jump in your pool and I will miss our chats about “Henry” the snake that lives in your flower bed, your plan for a natural growing backyard and everything in between! I’m sorry I did not get to tell you goodbye and have a chance to tell you one more dramatic Amy story….
REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND…..You will be missed immensely!

There are no words to express just how much you will be missed Max, it seems impossible that you are gone. I will always remember the many days working together, riding together, and just plain hanging out together. Knowing you for nearly thirty years is one of the best things about my life and I have been blessed to have been a part of yours. Rest In Peace my friend.

  4. Max…..what a joy to have worked with you and just to have known you. We never saw you have a "bad" day. There will never be another one like you…and YOU truly will be missed. God speed.

  5. It is hard to grasp the fact that I will no longer hear your laugh or get one of your warm hugs. I will always think of you with joy because of the light you brought into my life. I will cherish 17 years worth of wonderful & hilarious memories. I will miss you singing your Cat Stevens songs or showing me your latest concha sandwich creation. You will forever have a special place in my heart. Until we meet again I will miss you deeply. Rest in Peace 11:11.

Big Max… some of our best years were spent hanging out with you. We shared our homes, our kids, pets, and we held much love between our families. We are going to have a very difficult time without you around to make us laugh and then laugh harder as your chuckles prompt extra rounds. You lived with loss, yet you never failed to stop smiling. We admired your strength and the unconditional love you reserved for family and friends. Few people will be missed as much as you. I always thought we’d all get together again… and again. We promise to let Max and Julia know we love them. Thank you Big Max for passing down your beautiful smile and laugh to your son, the kind that creates merry eyes. We still have much of you here with us through him. We wrap Little Max with love while holding his father close to our hearts, never will we forget the best of the best.

A father’s wisdom does not end with death… that’s often when the most profound of his lessons begin.

    Love, Aunt Rayshel
