Mary Ellen Cooper Harris

September 4, 1933 – July 8, 2022

Mary Ellen Cooper Harris, 88, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022.  Mary Ellen was born on September 4, 1933 in Houston, Texas.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Irene Harwood Cooper; her loving husband of 67 years, Dr. Jack H. Harris.  Left to cherish her memory are her son Rick Harris; daughter-in-law Susan; grandchildren, Ryan Harris and wife Stephanie, Katie Harris; great grandchildren Kaylea, Jack, Avery and Liam; numerous nieces and nephews, family members and lifelong friends.

Mary Ellen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She cherished spending time with her family and staying in contact with her friends.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 12:30 P.M. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 P.M. at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd., Pearland, Texas 77581 with Rev. Luis Garcia officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary Ellen's honor to MD Anderson Children's Art Project, 6900 Fannin, Suite 1.1000, Houston, Texas 77030 www.childrensart.org  or to the Texas Capitol Fund Drive c/o State Preservation Board, P. O. Box 13286, Austin, Texas 78711-3286.

  2. So very sorry to hear the sad news of ME passing away. We have loved her for as long as I can remember and will continue to in our hearts and soles! She will be missed dearly by all that knew her.
