October 7, 1926 – March 19, 2023
We come together to memorialize three incredible people who have left this earthly place to be together again amongst family and friends: Fred and Elise Camp and their son, Craig Camp. Our family is particularly saddened to lose the latest to pass of the three, Elise Camp.
Fred, husband of Elise and father of Craig and Nancy, left us first on February 28, 2012 and son, Craig, who went to be with his wife, Darla, on September 24, 2020. The ashes of Fred and Craig have been with Elise since their deaths, but we know they are all together now during the greatest journey there is.
If you knew Fred and Elise, you’d know they were inseparable from the day they met. Elise was born on October 7th, 1926 to parents William and Mary Woodward and Fred was born on December 20, 1922 to parents Paul and Elza Camp.
They had somewhat different interests in life, with Elise enjoying maintaining their home and hosting along with Fred many family and musical get togethers while Fred enjoyed working with wood and beautifying their home and garden.
They met during WWII while Fred was stationed at Ellington Air Force Base and Elise was living in Park Place, Houston, Texas and working downtown at Shell. They soon fell in love, married and went on to have two children: Craig and Nancy. They enjoyed traveling and were able to do quite a lot of overseas travel during their later years.
Fred got to heaven first, but I believe Elise was happy to get there as soon as she could manage. She, along with the rest of us, have missed the rest of the family tremendously.
We also memorialize Craig Camp, who was heavily involved with cinemaphotography and the graphic arts, lost his battle with cancer on September 24, 2020. He is predeceased by his wife, Darla Camp. Craig did not have any children.
They are survived by daughter and sister, Nancy Lemons, her children Christy Galan and Kevin Lemons, and her grandchildren Paige, MyKaylah and Luke Galan, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Elise, Fred and Craig will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200 with Rev. Glenda McDonald officiating.
Condolences may be sent to the family in care of Jeter Memorial Funeral Home at www.jeterfuneralhome.com.
