July 26, 1937 – September 16, 2023

Marvin Ennis Knighton, 86, of Houston, Texas passed away on September 16, 2023 surrounded by his family.  Marvin was born on July 26, 1937 in Jasper, Texas to Andrew and Mabel (Lewis) Knighton.  On October 4, 1957 he married Miriam McCarty, a union that lasted 65 years.

Marvin was preceded in death by his wife Miriam, parents, Andrew and Mabel Knighton, two brothers and four sisters.  He leaves behind two sisters, Helen McBee and Nancy Page and husband John, his son Marvin Knighton, Jr. and wife Barbara, his daughter Tamara (Tammy) Knighton Holcomb and husband Ronald; his three grandchildren, Pastor Loucan (Luke) Saling, Ruth Mannis, Jessica Fisher; his six great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Cozette, Aiden, Abigail, Jaden and Alexis and numerous nieces and nephews.

He loved fishing and spending time with his family.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:0 P.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Hope Lutheran Church, 1804 S. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 with Rev. Jonathan E. Petering officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.
