In Loving Memory

Marsha Lynn Lewis Watkins

Marsha Lynn Lewis Watkins

February 7, 1955 – September 2, 2025

Marsha Lynn Lewis Watkins was born February 7, 1955, in Forest, Mississippi, to parents Betty Ouida Walters Lewis and Jack Wallace Lewis. She was the third of six children, and she was the first one born in a hospital. Her father was in the military, and she spent the first years of her life living in France, followed by a variety of other places she temporarily called home. In 1961, she and her family settled in Houston permanently. After completing high school, she went to work for Shell, was a founding member of Great American Business Products, and finished her working career with Oiltanking Houston. She married the love of her life, Bill Watkins, on February 19, 1983. They settled in Alvin, Tx, had children, and were married for 33 wonderful years until Bill passed in 2016. Almost ten years later, on September 2, 2025, she joined her husband and her family in heaven at the age of 70.

Marsha loved all kinds of music; her taste was varied and spanned all genres. She enjoyed planning parties and feeding others. She excelled at both because she was a fantastic cook. She loved a good glass of scotch, believed coffee helped fix everything, and had an infectious laugh. Her grasp of numbers and accounting was unparalleled, and her children maintained that she was a math wizard capable of fixing any problem associated with numbers. She was a dog lover, and had a soft spot for most four-legged creatures, even spiteful camels who spit at her. She loved sports rabidly, particularly baseball and soccer, and planned her days around sporting events so she wouldn’t miss anything.

Above all, Marsha was best known for her generous heart. She never said no to anyone in need and went above and beyond to help everyone she came across. She helped others sometimes to her own detriment because she always sought to put others before herself, and never begrudged anyone assistance if she could give it.

She is preceded in death by her husband, WiIliam Elvie “Bill” Watkins, father Jack Wallace Lewis, mother Betty Ouida Walters Lewis, brothers John Wiley Lewis and William Cooper “Bill” Lewis, sister Wanda Lou Binger, brothers-in-law John Arthur Price and Dale Binger, and cousin Stacey Edwards.

Her memory lives on in her children Cathryn and husband Christopher, Roosevelt, Dylan, and Lauren, aunt Mary Ellen and her husband Bob, sister Judy, brother Steve and wife Christine, sister-in-law Barbara, and a veritable army of nieces and nephews: Jennifer, her son Tristan and his wife Brianna, Thomas, his wife Katherine and their daughter Elliott, Geoffrey, his wife Briana and their daughter Evelyn, Samantha, Elizabeth and her son Wiley, Collin, Jenna, her husband James, Lyle, and their children Liam, Peyton, and Preslie, Matthew, his wife Maria and their children Landen and Luna. Finally, she lives on in the hearts of her beloved four-legged children Stubble Ignatius “Stubbers” Watkins and Cooper Davis “Moose” Watkins.

Marsha loved fiercely and deeply, protected all those she considered important to her, and will be missed beyond measure.

A memorial for Marsha will be held at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, TX on Saturday, September 13 at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow at FUMC Pearland.
