June 21, 1959 – August 19, 2023
Mark Allen Taylor of Friendswood, TX, passed away August 19, 2023 after a brief illness. He was 64. Mark was born to parents Ronald Taylor, Sr. of Colorado Springs and the late Guadalupe Garza of Victoria, TX.
Mark had a thirst for knowledge that came at an early age, If he wasn't reading a book, you could find him reading the back of a cereal box, coupons or a shampoo bottle. Anything he could get his hands on. This thirst for knowledge earned him his Bachelor's Degree at the University of Boulder, Colorado. From there he served as a Cadet at the Air Force Academy.
After serving in the Air Force, Mark relocated from Colorado to Texas, where he began a successful 40-year career in the Insurance Industry. He worked as an Account Executive with Prudential/Aetna Insurance and later became Vice President at McGriff Seibel where he recently retired from in January.
He married the love of his life, Deaneva Hansen in May 2000. They were together 22 years before her unexpected passing in 2022.
For those of you who know Mark, knew that he had an unique sense of humor, which he displayed almost daily with his not so politically correct t-shirts. He could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances. His recent hobbies included flirting with all the cardiology nurses and buying the most random stuff from late night infomercials. He had a passionate love affair with ice cream, ramen noodles, Windy City hot dog sauce and anything dipped in chocolate.
In addition to his love for reading books, he loved playing golf, visiting vineyards in California, hanging with his son Lucas and playing Any kind of trivia game. He always won. Mark was loved and will be missed by a lot of people.
Mark was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Deaneva, daughter Emily Grace and mother, Guadalupe Taylor.
He is survived by his son, Lucas Brice Taylor of Friendswood, TX. He loved his son so much and was so proud of the young man he has become. He is also survived by his father Ronald Taylor Sr. of Colorado Springs, sister Cheryl Taylor and husband Herbert Burchfield of Conroe, TX, nephew Kris Burchfield of Spring TX, brother Ronald Taylor Jr and wife Pauline Dijo-Taylor of Aruba, sister-in-law Debbie Beck and husband Kenneth Beck as well as nephew Matthew Beck and niece Hailey Beck of Tennessee.
On behalf of the Taylor, Garza and Beck families, we would like to express thanks to all the family and friends who came together and offered their help during this difficult time.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 P.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood Texas 77546.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Sagemont Church, 11300 S. Sam Houston Pkwy E., Houston, TX 77089.

Mark will be missed dearly by the ladies at Exxon-icebox. Prayers for the family.
Mark was a dear friend, as well as a business acquaintance. I was grieved when his wife Deaneva passed away unexpectedly, and now Mark has left us too. It is a blessing that both had a loving relationship with the Lord and will spend eternity praising God forever. May God take care of Luke and the rest of Mark's family during this time of their mourning and in the coming days and years to come, and may they take courage in knowing God is watching over them all.
Our condolences on the loss of your brother.
Prayers for his family. ๐๐
