In Loving Memory

Marjorie Lea Jones Howell

Marjorie Lea Jones Howell was born on November 29, 1929, to Virgil Dee Jones and Vivian Marberry Jones in White River Township, Arkansas. She made her permanent change of address on September 24, 2022, at her home in Pearland, Texas.

A member of Life Tabernacle Church since 1967, Marjorie was preceded in death by the love of her life, Donald Alfred Howell, her parents and adored step-mother Berniece Jones, brother-in-law, Ernest Daniel Howell and sister-in-law, Jean Evelyn Graves Howell.

She is survived by her four daughters, Judy (Richard) Roehm, Jacque Howell, Donna (Doug) McVaigh and Jennifer (David) LaCour. Grandchildren Kent Roehm, Kimberley Roehm, Sarah (Rodney) Yarbrough, Jonathan (Huyen) LaCour, Kayla (Anthony) Perkins and Kyle (Raegan) McVaigh; great-grandchildren Emilee Sexton, Madelyn and Mia Perkins, Whitaker and Shepherd McVaigh and Charles Yarbrough; niece and nephews Pamla (Bill) Garfinkle, Daniel Howell, Richard Howell, John (Linda) Howell, Anthony (Karen) Howell and numerous “adopted” children and grandchildren.

Marjorie was a woman of great faith always believing if she prayed, God WOULD answer and she saw that happen numerous times throughout her life. She was a devoted wife of 64 years and 9 months, never leaving Don’s side during his many hospital stays. She loved crocheting, mainly baby blankets which are treasures to her family. Many of her creations were sold at various craft shows around the area. She was an avid reader until she was no longer able to hold a book.

The family wishes to express their deepest and most sincere gratitude to Gena Robinson and Jerusha Harshman for their loving care of her during her final days and to the numerous friends and family who visited with her letting her know how deeply loved she was as well as providing food and comfort to the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marjorie’s memory to Ima’s Home for Children.

Graveside service will be held Saturday, October 1st, at 10:00am at South Park Cemetery, 1310 N. Main St., Pearland, Texas. Visitation will be at 1:00, Saturday, October 1, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM at the Life Church League City Campus, 1101 S. Egret Bay, League City, Texas.

  1. She was a Mother to so many people 💕 My last visit with her we were discussing the Bible. She truly Loved the Word of God. She will be truly missed but I know one day there will be a Family Reunion on the streets of gold. So Momma Howell until I see you again I will keep Reading the Word and Keeping my Eyes upon Jesus ❤️

  2. Our condolences to all of you girls. Good memories of the Howells in Riverside. My parents and your grandparents were such long time friends. May all your good memories bring you peace
