In Loving Memory

Karen Elizabeth Alexander Kelso

January 29, 1944 – March 4, 2025

Karen Elizabeth Alexander Kelso passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025 at home in Pearland, Texas where she had been living with her son, Karl, and his family, Phuong, Noah, Katherine, and Kaylee.  Karen was born in Bryan, Texas on January 29, 1944 to Earl and Bernice Alexander, and to much happiness, her older sister Sheri.

Karen and her family resided in Manvel, Texas most of her youth, until she graduated from Alvin High School on May 31, 1962. She later married Manard Kelso and also welcomed her stepson, Kim Kelso.

Karen loved talking to people and always thrived on helping people even more. She was very crafty and had great skill at painting ceramics, especially animal figurines. She loved animals and enjoyed the company of cats and dogs. God was a central part of her life and she attended church regularly as she was able.

Family was always important to Karen, whether they lived in the same house or were in another state. She cherished visiting loved ones far and wide and relished spending time with cousins, nieces and nephews residing in various parts of Texas. Karen especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Bernice Alexander, and son, Kim Kelso.

She is survived by her son, Karl Kelso and his wife, Phuong Kelso, and granddaughter, Amber Anderson and her husband, Mark Anderson, and grandchildren Noah Kelso, Katherine Kelso, and Kaylee Kelso, and great grandchildren Tinsley Anderson and Kelso Anderson, and great great grandson, Matthew Kelso. She is also survived by her sister Sheri Pipes as well as many nieces and nephews and also grandsons Chris Marroquin, Joshua Marroquin, and Justin Marroquin.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 9:00 A.M. followed by the funeral service at 10:00 A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N.
