In Loving Memory

Judy Mae Dietrich

September 28, 1953 – February 18, 2025

Judy Mae Dietrich, of Alvin, Texas passed away on February 18, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Judy was born September 28, 1953. She was raised in Alvin by her Parents Jason and Ora Helen Tyson along with her sisters Yvonne Tyson, Huberta Mora, and Joyce Tyson. She graduated from Alvin High School in 1973. Shortly after graduating high school, she met and fell in love with Robert Dietrich. When we say met, she saw Robert drive by in his 1974 Delta 88 Royal Coupe on the main drag in Alvin and told Henry Hearn, Robert’s life-long best friend, to introduce her to him – So Henry did what he was told and they got married on October 12, 1974. They made their home in Alvin, TX and remained married and in-love until her passing – They celebrated their 50 year anniversary in 2024. In addition to caring for her home and family, Judy also held jobs with the Southeast Commerce Bank of Houston, then for Shell Oil, and finally as a Paraprofessional at Passmore Elementary School in Alvin, TX where she made many lifelong friends before retiring.

Family was everything to Judy – Her and Robert had two sons together, Brenten Keith Dietrich and Garrett Jason Dietrich. She enjoyed watching them play sports growing up, taking them to the movies, watching them run around on their property in Alvin, and generally running the roads during the summers with them and her sister Yvonne and her two sons. As her boys grew up, got married and became fathers themselves, Judy’s world became her grandkids – Madison, Hunter, Ava, and Stella Mae Dietrich. She was and will forever be known to them as their loving Grams. She lived for being around them, helping out with them anytime and in any way she could – She was even known to call her sons from time to time to ask them if (or tell them) they needed a date night so she could take her grandkids.

Friends were another important part of her life. She had numerous close friends she had built over her life, and she was either talking with them on the phone or heading out to meet them for lunch or dinner.

Judy, Wife, Mom, Grams – If you were blessed to know her, you were blessed with her love. She will be forever missed by her family and friends.

We love you. So much. Rest peacefully. Robert, Brenten, Garrett, Amanda, Laura, Madison, Hunter, Ava, Stella, Inga, Judd.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 North Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 on March 8, 2025, at 9:30AM-10:30AM. The memorial service will begin at 10:30AM with Pastor David Goran officiating.

    1. Judy always had a passion for those she loved and for her puppies. I know she will be greatly missed, but, she has left a beautiful legacy for her family and special friends. My prayers for her loved ones are that they feel GOD’s peace and know they will be reunited again.

  1. Sorry to hear of Judy’s passing. I have known her and Yvonne since we were children . They lived the block behind me . I would walk over there and visit. This was a simpler time in life and children were allowed to be out and about playing
