November 7, 1932 – December 20, 2022
On December 20, 2022, Jose Joe Wong gained his wings and went to heaven. He was born November 7, 1932 to James Wong and Chew Chi Wong in Canton, China. He was known to many as Mr. Wong, Joe, Papa, Lolo Joe, and Uncle Joe. Whatever you called him, you knew him for his knowledge, his wisdom, his strictness, and his cooking skills.
Joe expected his children to respect their elders and each other, study hard and work hard. He taught the men to be gentlemen, provide and protect their family. He taught the women to be independent and strong willed. He worked diligently to ensure his family could all be in America together. Although he is no longer with us physically, his presence and legacy will be felt for many years to come.
Jose Joe Wong is survived by his children: Elizabeth Tongol (Frank), Joe Vic Wong (Vanessa), Ana Mei Suarez (Desi), Joe Cris Wong (Vivianne), Susan Wong (Johnny), Rosemeilee Steele (Randy); all his grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sisters, and many nieces and nephew.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 P.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311, N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200.
