August 4, 1942 – February 4, 2025
Joan Marie Radous, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and community member, passed away on February 4, 2025, at 82. Born on August 4, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Paul and Cecilia Dorner, she is survived by her sister Cecilia Greer and brother Paul Dorner. Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Albert Radous, and her siblings Bobby Dorner, Gerald Dorner, and Sharon Shea.
Joan attended high school at Notre Dame Academy, graduating in 1960. A devoted mother, she is survived by her daughters Kim Brooks (Kenneth), Jennifer Young (Brannon), sons Kevin Radous (Barbara), Jeff Radous (Heather), and Paul Radous (Pedro), along with her six cherished grandchildren: Andrew, Nathan, Colin, Sidney, Jacqueline, and Zoe.
One of Joan’s most endearing qualities was how welcoming she was. As a mother of five, the house was always full of kids. Joan woke up on Saturday mornings to serve pancakes to all who had spent the night. Everyone loved her cooking, and she enjoyed having a house full. She was truly a mother to all.
Joan established a highly successful career at Exxon Mobil as a paralegal in the law department. Recognized by her peers for her exceptional skills, Joan was also known for her interpersonal relationships. Her office became a favored destination for discussions about the Astros or Buckeyes, as well as for seeking thoughtful advice.
Throughout her life, Joan dedicated her time to service. She was a volunteer at the Mary Queen food pantry, member of the women’s council, part of the cake ministry, worked the bizarre and participated in Fall themed table luncheons. She truly lived for serving others.
Joan enjoyed spending time with her friends playing Bunko and going out to lunch or shopping. Joan was never shy to engage in a competitive game of Phase 10, or whatever the game was. She was one who everyone wanted to be around.
Joan always treated everyone with respect, as she knew God loved everyone. She was deeply committed to her faith, and had a special devotion to the Virgin Mary.

My second mom while growing up, the kindest, most patient person. I loved being at the Radous’s. I cried for days, maybe weeks when you moved to Texas. I have so many great memories. Thank you and may God bless and keep you.
Much Love,
Lynn Meyer
Jen so sorry for your loss.
Prayers for Jen, Brannon and the family.
Paula and I are so grateful to have known Joan. Her faith, devotion to family, and grace were an inspiration to all who knew her. Like so many others, we felt like we were her own kids every time we were around her! While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life very well lived and know her faith in Jesus Christ has lifted Joan to her eternal reward, praise God.
THe Lord will not forget what Joan, and Al, did in His service. They were wonderful servants of the Most High God. Their spirit of service is embodied in their children, and that goodness lives on. May the Trinity watch over them both, and May Almighty God bless and keep their children, their families, and all who love them safe. Because of the Sacrifice of the Savior, Jesus Christ, we will see Joan and Al again, in Christ. Life is not ended, only beginning. May Our Lady, Notre Dame, come to meet Joan and bring her safely home. All our love and prayers, Steve & MarySandra Foster, Friendswood, TX
I was deeply saddened to hear about Joan’s passing. She was not only an incredibly intelligent and hardworking colleague but also a truly kind-hearted person. Joan had a rare ability to lift up those around her, always speaking with warmth and respect. Her unwavering dedication and grace left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working with her.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. Joan’s presence will be deeply missed, but her kindness and integrity will always be remembered. My prayers are with you and everyone who loved her.
A tutor in math, tutor in life. Dear cousin, friend, and confidante. Al and she herself alone know how much I owe to her. May she, with Al, plead for us at the throne of God.
