Jeff Adam Knight

December 23, 1934 – April 18, 2023

Jeff Adam Knight, age 88 of Alvin, TX passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 in the HCA Houston Healthcare Center in Webster, TX.    Jeff was born December 23, 1934 to parents, Charles Troy and Ruby Elizabeth (Manuel) Knight. He was born 8th out of 10 children. He was raised in Alvin, TX on a small country farm and knew what working hard was all about. He attended Alvin schools and was a lifetime resident of Alvin.

Jeff worked for 28 years for Brazoria County Road Maintenance Pct. 3 as maintainer operator and foreman. He later retired from that position in 1991.

Jeff met and later married his soulmate Juanita Wofford on February 13, 1987 and they began their wonderful adventure in life. They enjoyed 36 years of each others company and enjoyed life to the fullest.  Their hobbies included traveling, hunting, camping, fishing, gardening and spending valuable time with family and friends.  Jeff enjoyed gardening and had quite a green thumb when it came to his vegetable garden; he and Juanita gave away most of the vegetables and spent hours canning the rest.

Jeff never met a stranger and was a good, kind, giving Christian man who knew and loved Jesus. Jeff and Juanita were members of Alvin Missionary Baptist Church.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Troy and Ruby Elizabeth Knight; son, James R. Knight; grandson, Randy Knight; great-grandson, Colton Scopel; 4 brothers, L.W. (Bobby) Knight, Charlie Knight, Frank Knight and Ralph Knight; 4 sisters, Margaret Kaese, Katherine Hitt Anderson, Sadie Griffin and Fannie Coronis.

Left to keep Jeff’s memory alive are his soulmate and wife of 36 years, Juanita; 2 sons, Randy Knight and wife, Elaine; David Knight; daughter, Becky White and husband, Jim; Randall Reed and fiance, Denise; Wanda Hall and husband, Rick. Grandchildren: Kristi and husband, Mark; Adam Knight; Diane Knight; James (Bubba) White and wife, Shannon; Jessica Scopel and husband, Jason; Clayton Knight and wife, Amanda; Colby Knight and wife, Myria; Patricia Reed, Sean Hawkins, John Reed, Kiel Hawkins, Daniel Reed, Ian Hawkins.  Jeff had 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister, Josephine Bland of Pasadena, TX, along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Also left behind are their precious church family.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. with a celebration of life to begin at 11:00 A.M. at Alvin Missionary Baptist Church, 2202 W. Lang St., Alvin, Texas 77511.  Pastor Justin Gatlin will officiate the service; Bro. Paul Cleveland will assist.   Burial will follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.  After interment, lunch will be served at Alvin Missionary Baptist Church Banquet Hall.

Pallbearers will include Clayton Knight, Colby Knight, Bubba White, Patrick Knight, Mark Scrimsher and Frankie Knight.

Honorary Pallbearers are Patricia Reed, Sean Hawkins, John Reed, Kiel Hawkins, Daniel Reed, Ian Hawkins.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.

  4. Pops taught me what the importance of being a positive role model can make for not only others, but also to yourself. He gave where ever he could, spoke up when needed, and loved unconditionally.
